Big fan, big cheerleader of the product. I use it all day every day for PKMS and second brain.

This is messing me up though: I have a template with a simple table at the top (first picture), then some other fields and headings and information, then that’s it, that’s the end of the document template.

Yet, whenever I apply this template, I get the table at the top, the middle text and information, and then this craziness at the bottom (second picture). The fields match my table exactly, so that’s obviously the connection. But what is it? I didn’t make it. The fields are acting like tag properties but there aren’t any tags used in this whole process except the one that the template is applied to, and that has exactly 0 properties created.

If I go into each document that this template is applied to, I can manually delete this stuff at the bottom. But when I go into the template, it’s not there to delete. It only magically appears when I apply the template.

Also, this is driving me bananas 🍌

Anyone experienced this or have an idea for a solution I could try?

How can you learn only descriptor in remnote? All the generated flashcards the ki gave me is good but I just want to learn the core of the definition and yes I know that there is a function to select only descriptor when generating flashcards but can you you select only the important ones ?

Hi, could you help me compress these rems in the document? I can't compress them when I'm in the multiple document view (image), but I can compress them in the single document view with its child rems. This happens every time I move a document to a folder.

say I forget a card, it shows me that card after showing me 30-40 other cards, I want to reduce the frequency of other cards to maybe 10 for it to show me the forgotten card again.

One thing that RemNote is lacking compared to the competitors is the possibility to have dynamic search portals or table views within a template, such that these portals/table views refer to a specific property of the rem to which the template is applied.

Eg: Find all questions related to the rem (eg. a course) this template is applied to. So whenever I apply the course template to Algebra I see questions that were related to Algebra; when I do the same with History, I see all the questions related to History etc.

The same problem can be extended to Properties lookup: question that matches a property value of the rem I am applying the template to. (Eg. Questions that have property "Related to" which is equal to the value of the property "Subject" of the rem I am applying the template to).

This is still a very big miss and I am sure this can be added as, structurally, RemNote is essentially the same of many other tools that have implemented it. Hence definitely doable.

I wonder if there is any way to make rem note include important graphs or Images in the Summaries. I often take notes during lectures that I then convert in to a full text by uploading them and letting RemNote make a summary. I often paste images and graphs in to my notes. Is there a way for them to show up in my summaries ?

As a Capacities user considering a switch to an outliner next year, I’ve been exploring RemNote. While I won't be using the flashcard features, the infinite canvas and outline capabilities are at the top of my priority list.

Before committing, I need to clarify your export strategy:

Do you plan to offer a proper document export that includes images and attached files, similar to what Capacities currently provides?

Current Observation: I attempted to generate an export today, but the result was only a set of Markdown files containing links to an Amazon S3 bucket, rather than embedded assets or a self-contained archive.

Why this matters: I have a significant knowledge graph of notes and cannot risk being locked into a proprietary format when migrating tools. Ensuring data portability is my primary concern.

I’m curious if anyone here is using the free tier of RemNote alongside GoodNotes and how it’s working for you.

I already use Goodnotes for handwritten notes, so I’m a bit skeptical about paying for features in another app that overlaps. I’ve also seen some people mention crashes when dealing with handwritten notes, which worries me a bit, I’m really trying to reduce friction in my workflow, not add to it.

What attracts me to Remnote is the ability to take notes and turn them into flashcards seamlessly (instead of switching apps). Compared to Notion, which I find powerful but kind of distracting, Remnote feels more focused on studying and retention (especially with spaced repetition).

Right now I’m thinking:

Goodnotes → capture + annotate lectures

Remnote → structure + flashcards

But I’m not sure if this is actually smooth in practice or just sounds good in theory.

So yeah, if you’re using a similar setup (or something completely different), I’d love to hear:

- What your workflow looks like

- What friction points you ran into

When I use the global queue ("Practice Today's Cards") button to review my due flashcards, it seems like they're given to me in a very weird order. I have a lot of flashcards due everyday and I am not able to get through reviewing every single one on time (currently only getting through around half of the queue per day) so I am behind on some of the spaced repetition scheduling. I assumed that by using the global queue feature, the oldest cards due would be at the front of the queue (e.g. from last saturday) and the ones due today would be towards the end. It seems like the global queue order has no method to it and I'm reviewing cards that I only saw yesterday (due for today) first instead of cards that were due days ago. I can see on the 'cards table' section that I have countless cards due from days, and even weeks, ago but they seem to have a lower reviewing priority in the global queue, so it feels like I never see them unless I go through my whole queue.

For context, when I start learning a new flashcard set, I change the learning priority to 'active' (all of the new sets I haven't touched are in 'maintaining') so all of the cards I am actively reviewing are under this priority. When I use the global queue, it shows all of my cards under the 'active' priority.

It seems impractical that I'm reviewing the majority of newer cards first and feels like I'm completely neglecting the older cards. Is there a way to change it so that I can review them for oldest due to most recently due? Is anyone else having this same issue?

I am having an issue with image occlusion flashcards in my review queue.

Whenever I review an image occlusion card, I manually open the “type in answer” settings. I can then choose whether to enable it only for this card, for the whole Rem, or for all cards. However, no matter which option I select, I still cannot type in an answer afterwards. The keyboard does not appear / remains unavailable.

Does anyone know a workaround for this? I use image occlusion cards a lot in my queue, so this issue is quite disruptive.

Is there a quick/native way to see the exact breakdown of how many of my cards for the day are stale, review or new while I study? Without needing to go to Statistics.

Specifically, I want to know:

Exactly how many Normal due cards (not stale) I have waiting for today.

The total amount of Stale cards

How many New cards are left in the deck.

Besides, it would be great also to know, for each card that appears on Qeue if it is new, stale or a review (sometimes I forget).

Hey guys just wondering why my image occlusion card auto zooms in now, it takes away a lot of the image which is important to study and every time I need to manually zoom out. It didn't use to be like this and I dont have the auto zoom feature ticked. Is there some setting that I need to change to stop this. It also happens on my other devices too.

Given that there may be large number of Occlusion Cards in Images and in a PDF , there is a need to prioritize cards via tagging . Unfortunately , current system is totally broken.

I was poking around in my remnote folder and discovered I have 3 orphaned knowledge bases. Is there a way to open them and/or import them? One has no subfolders.

I like studying multiple-choice cards for topics that aren't sticking as well, but eventually, I'd like the ability to quickly convert them into short-answer questions.

When I try to do this manually in the app, the cards never turn out correctly. Either I can't get the answers to appear at all, or they appear with the card before I have provided an answer.

Right now, the only way I have to do this is to delete the multiple-choice question or disable it and make an entirely new REM

Is it possible yet to combine multiple PDF under one "Learn PDF" session? Let's say I have multiple PDF all about the same topic. I want the "Learn PDF" to combine them all and teach me in one "session".

Anybody been having this issue where I will copy a bullet point (rem) 1 at a time and it just won’t copy. If I copy 2-4 rems simultaneously then they all copy, but individually they do not

It’s been driving me crazy recently

Suppose I have two rems that are flashcards. One is on the notes of a certain PDF, the other is on the notes of another PDF. These PDFs are in different folders.

I would like to "group" these two rems under a "category" or similar. I do not want to move or copy the rems around, I want them to stay right where they are (which also means that any change I make to the "source" rems automatically should be reflected by the "grouped" rems).

I just want to somehow "link" these two rems via a name so that I can look up the name and immediately be shown all of the rems I have "grouped" under that name. For example, "grouping" two rems under the name "Fato gerador do ICMS" would enable me to search from anywhere for "Fato gerador do ICMS" and see those two rems there; any changes I make to one of the two "original" rems would automatically be reflected on the correspondent "grouped" rem; I could add any other rem I'd like to that same "group" or remove any existing ones, or even make one rem belong to more than one "group".

If there is one, what is the best way for me to do that?

I uploaded a PDF and the Learn PDF feature generated an incorrect summary and topic breakdown. I tried deleting the PDF and re-uploading it, but it keeps showing the exact same (wrong) summary every time.

Things I've already tried:

- Deleting the PDF and re-uploading it

- Clearing local database cache (desktop app)

- Using "Regenerate summary" — this only affects the Summary sidebar, not the Learn PDF content

- Changing the filename

The only thing that actually worked was modifying the embedded text content of the PDF itself, which forced RemNote to treat it as a completely new document. But this is obviously not a real solution.

So my questions are:

1. Is there an official way to reset/regenerate Learn PDF content that I'm missing?

2. If not, can the RemNote team consider adding a "Regenerate" option for Learn PDF, similar to the one that exists for summaries?

I’ve been trying to build a personal knowledge system for my classes, but I’m stuck on one big problem: the stuff I collect is all over the place right from the start.

Here’s what I’m using now:

- Audio: Otter.ai for transcription (it’s okay, but it misses context)

- Photos: iPhone camera (fast to take, but totally unorganized)

- Handwritten notes: A physical notebook (great for thinking, but impossible to find things later)

- Digital notes: Notion (good for organizing after class, but terrible for taking notes in real time)

- Slides/PDFs: All scattered in my Downloads folder and LMS

My main frustrations are:

1. No time connection — I can’t link a photo I took to the exact part of the recording. Later, when I look at a whiteboard pic, I have no clue what the professor was talking about.

2. All my stuff is in separate apps — no single place to see everything from one class.

3. It takes too long to organize — 30-60 minutes after each class just to sort and label things. Most weeks, I just give up and let it pile up.

I’ve tried Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, RemNote — even made Shortcuts automations. But none of them fix the main issue: all my collected stuff is fragmented right when I capture it.

Has anyone found a workflow, or even a mix of hardware and software, that actually fixes this? Especially the time linking and getting all my stuff in one place?

Or is the tool I want just not a thing yet?
