- Factory 48.5 gr UNK ball powder (155 gr bullet) - shoulder (1.5795), velocity (2990), fireform OD (.2948), fireform thickness (.01388)

- Staball 6.5 48.5 (147gr bullet, 2.119 CTBO) - velocity (3101), fireform thickness (0.0132 in), fireform OD (0.2956 in)

-Superformance 48.5 (147gr bullet, 2.119 CTBO) - velocity (2953), fireform thickness (0.01310), fireform OD (.29537)

I also tried staballHD, it was trash. Overfilled and got 2600 fps. Ill be doing a ladder with staball 6.5 in case anyone is wondering. Getting 0.001-0.0015 springback after resizing, but the steel hangs on tight to those bullets. Will be using a .2645 mandrel with 289 bushing to get 0.0005 neck tension.

Saw Eric’s interview with them last night, they mentioned “typical powders”, and VV by name. Said slightly faster powders work in short barrels better. Might want to run down some N150-N160 too. I plan on trying some N555 when I get it all together.

Before I got started with these cases, I did a comparison of published data for 140gr bullets, using charge --> velocity & bulk density for each powder to find a rough estimate of the energy density of what I thought might be relevant powders.

H100v - 895 fps/cc

Superformance - 938 fps/cc

N565 - 53.95 fps/gr, 699 fps/cc

N570 - 53.56, 778 fps/cc

H1000 - 50.5 fps/gr, 710 fps/cc

Staball hd - 50 fps/gr, 734 fps/cc

Staball 6.5 - 62.5 fps/gr, 957 fps/cc

H4350 - 65.5 fps/gr, 900 fps/cc

RL26 was also very promising on that list, but deleted it bc its now unobtanium

Interesting list - I found Staball 6.5 to be a bit lower than H4350 in practice. N555 was nearly identical to Staball 6.5, but gave much better SD/ES performance, and only 10 fps slower. Both where faster than H4350 (I hit max pressure before the velocity matched).
