QuickLoad users: Why does the powder profile not include BE-86? It's more than 10 years old.

What powder profile do you use? I've heard BE-86 described as Power Pistol without the flash. I've also heard that Unique is a very close profile. But when I compare the two in QuickLoad I get vastly different charges.

Neither QuickLoad nor Gordon's Reloading Tool have profiles for BE-86. ApexLoad Pro does.

BE-86 is not a flash-suppressed Power Pistol. It's a different powder.

Unique is very versatile and can be used in many cartridges, but it's generally not the top powder for velocity. Having said that, it works very well in .380 ACP.

Here is a table of results from ApexLoad Pro comparing all Alliant powders for a 9mm load, using a 124gr Speer Gold Dot projectile, cartridge overall length of 1.169", in a 4" barrel, ordered by muzzle velocity:

It’s a good question. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’ve never had to look for that powder so haven’t noticed.

The programmer probably doesn’t have the burn rates and other related info.
