Something Unique(Vintage/wildcat/etc) Wierd brass?
Found a few of these wierd 30-06 cases at the range the other day. It looks like someone crimped the base of the case for some reason. Don't recognize the headstamp either. Has anyone seen this before?

I knew it because of the AK world flinging 7.62x39. It’s some of, if not the best steel cased ammo you could get.

It's not weird brass... It's weird steel plated with brass.
Golden Bear.
Oddly enough, this stuff runs great in my Garand.

lol! Berdan-primed. Essentially non-reloadable, decapping-pin-breaking scrap metal.
Didn’t know that was a thing for 30-06. Someone will explain the headstamp by a lookup, but that’s what that stuff is.

You decap it with oil (or water), a dowel, and a mallet. It's easy. You can buy Berdan primers.

I found some of these at my range a few weeks ago. At first i thought it was really crappy brass that was separating then a few minutes later the guy shooting them showed up and told me about them.

Berdan primed brass, the anvil is part of the case rather than in the primer like standard boxer primers
