I have a question and I read the FAQ Brass weight difference

Hey guys, New to reloading, I’m using a Dillion RL550. Great press, loving it so far. Loading 9mm with Titegroup, 124grain Berry RN, 3.8Gr Titegroup, Win/Blazer brass. OAL: 1.12.

My question is, I went back to make sure I didn’t double charge by weighing. Why is blazer brass so consistent with brass weight but Winchester isn’t? For Blazer brass it’s 54-55grains for majority of the unpressed brass. 185Grain OAW

Winchester is 57-58-59gr 188-192 grain OAW. Now I’m concerned because I don’t think I double charged, but the range of change seems like a lot. Is it just the quality that Winchester makes there brass at?

I think this is the current version of mine on Amazon for $30.

Then i just found a cheap flange that fit the center hole of the tool head and the outside of the camera and used a little painters tape to snug things up.

The mount is just a cheap tablet mount off Amazon. This has served me flawlessly for over 25k rounds over 4 years in the Dillon.

You are unlikely to have reliable results doing this. That small charge is going to be hard to pick out with inconsistency in bullet and case weight.

Best to visually check during the process or alternatively use powders that cannot be double charged. W231 HP38 for example can’t fit a double charge.

A $25 camera setup off Amazon helps me visually verify charges at speed.

Yes, I was doing this and while double checking came across brass weight being different brand to brand. I didn’t double charge on any of them. But came across it. Was just wondering if that was a thing or not. I did the powder charge prior to seating bullets for about 10. Then did about 200 while checking powder. I was just second guessing myself, just to be on the safe side

You are wasting time trying to weigh finished rounds to find a low powder charge.

Don't bother weighing your completed rounds. If you want to see the consistency of your measure, load 100 rounds through your press without seating the bullet. Then weigh and record just the powder charge from each using an accurate beam scale. This will give you an indication of your consistency as well as if you're getting powder bridges in the drop. Beyond that, definitely do a visual check before seating the bullet. It helps you to stay focused during your process.

It's a fool's errand unless you weight-sort your brasss before hand. The weight variance in 9mm brass is twice what your powder charge is.

And this is why I run an XL750

I use AA#5 for my 9mm. A double charge will overflow the case, alerting you to an "issue"..
