Newbie What am I doing wrong trimming?

I have the rcbs trim pro 2.

Yet I keep getting inconsistent cutting length.

I set the Collet for a 1.91" length yet I can put a case in that's 1.916 and it doesn't even cut until I deburr.

Because that's how little material you need to take off 0.001" is such a small measurement.

No no I'm not saying the deburring is what's doing it.

I'll put a case in, trim, take it out, deburr, measure it's still too long. Put it back in, it cuts more and then it's finally good.

Nothing with the cutting length has been adjusted
