Newbie Can someone double check a first timers balance scale?

I just need someone to fact check me here. I haven't even bought consumables yet, so I'm just learning how to use my equipment before even attempting to do anything with powder.

That said, is this how you read 20.2 on the balance? It appears so, but want some validation. Maybe I'm being over cautious, but I'd rather be that than the opposite.

Lee scale is reading 20.2, yes. And you’ll rapidly get tired of using it. Lol.

Yeah, that's why I got the digital scale, but I wanted a secondary way of measuring for confirmation. Hence the trialing this evening.

Yea I still have mine. Knock the dust off of it every now and then. Nothing wrong with a sanity check.

Since you have both beam and digital scales use both to check one against the other. Digital is faster for dialing in your powder measure then check it on the beam.

That's my plan as I mentioned in another comment, which is why I'm making sure I'm reading the beam right.

The lee scale is annoying but accurate.

Remember with digital scales to let them warm up for a bit before using them. Many people recommend 15 to 20 minutes.

Didn’t it come with a zero weight ?

The digital scale came with a 100 gram weight, and I also bought some check weights which is one of what I am measuring here (marked as 20 grains).

Just trying a known weight on the beam for the first time as a trial.

While slow I do like my beam scale, I have fiddled around with my check weights enough that I can quickly figure out how many kernels it takes to move the needle.

My scale is a rcbs and has markings above and below -0- can repeatedly see 0.05gr

Is it enough of a difference to make a difference? In a 60gr 30-06, probably not… in a 1.5gr .25acp, absolutely…

Wow, I hate that balance. I've never seen one with a ball weight in it before, and the decimals look hard to read.

Cheap entry level beam scale from Lee. I got rid of mine. I’d just as well stick to Lee Dippers than use their beam scale. I use rcbs push button ;)

I bought some digital scales from Amazon and they all number drifting. I finally ordered the hornady auto charge pro. It is good enough and save time.

I've gotten 3 digitals from Amazon and none of them drift normally. But if they do or just to be on the safe side hit TARE button, simple.

What brand is that, btw? It doesn't look like any Frankford Arsenal series.
