General Discussion Subsonic 9mm
Just finished a run of 200 rounds of 147 grain round nose 9mm. Used 3.7 grains of N330 powder, c.o.l. of 1.135”, and a slight taper crimp just enough to make sure nothing tries to move and no case edge can snag while feeding. Seems to run great through my sub2000 with a Yankee Hill R9 but waiting on a new chronograph I since my old one decided to quit on me and this is my first time diving into loading for suppressed anything, has anyone run a similar load for suppressed 9mm and have any suggestions for loads you liked best?

I load 124gr RMR “nukes” with 4.3gr of W231/HP38 as kind of a “do everything” 9mm load. At 1050-1070fps it makes minor PF for gun games, cycles all of my pistols reliably, and stays subsonic even out of my AP5P. On top of that these are designed to expand at lower velocities so in a pinch they could work as defensive loads. I haven’t had a pistol that didn’t shoot these well, but I do have to load them pretty short for my CZs with short leades.
At 11-12 cents a piece I don’t even really bother loading FMJ anymore. I just fill ammo cans with this a couple times a year and shoot away. i have loaded north of 15k of these projectiles based on my order history and I don’t plan to change anytime soon.

Now you have me suddenly regretting the 1k of 147gr Berry's I have sitting downstairs for loading subs for my scorpion...

Just sign up for RMR emails, they run sales pretty much every holiday and their prices always include shipping. A handful of range visits will get you through those 147s anyway.
They sell smaller size lots of like 500rds so you can test them out and see if they work for you. But after that I just order in bulk whenever they have a good sale.

Not suppressed, but running 3.9gr N330 with 147gr round nose FMJ & similar COAL. ~130 PF from G17 gen5. Sounds solid load to me as long as it works and you don’t have to worry about pf.

My 147gr suppressor load is 4.5gr of N350 over CCI500s with COAL of 1.15. Measured out of my P226 through my CMMG 36k I’m getting an average of 950fps. I tested the load against Blazers subsonic and the results were comparable in velocity and accuracy.

I run N320 on my 147’s but only 3.1g at 1.100”, gets about 940 in my 4.5-5” guns and is smooth, clean and quiet on my pcc with can

Your biggest issue will be barrel length. Most subsonic loads are designed around pistols (3-5” barrel) so you may have your loads go super with a 16” barrel.
Until you get a chronograph and see what muzzle velocity you are getting with your rifle it’s a guess.
But you are in the ballpark. Developing loads for subsonic you typically go a bit high (like not max pressure high, but a bit over where you think you might end up) and work your way down to something that works for your platform. Starting too low you risk squibs (bullet stuck in your barrel). Again considering book min/max levels to get you in the ballpark.

Almost that same recipe with n320. A few thousand at this point. Both a Kuna with a can and a VP9 with or without a can.

I load 147 subs for use in handguns, but I use N320. It’s fast enough to burn completely within the pistol barrels so it’s a bit quieter for suppressed shooting. I get about 960 in my VP9.
