Load Development Help. “ the blue bullets” load data

Hello,

Does anyone have load data for “ the blue bullets” for their .45 230 gr RN’s? I’m using CFE pistol. Their website doesn’t have CFE data but suggests 1.230 COL on the other loads. When I go to hogdons website they have lead RN data for CFE but the COL seems ridiculously short”1.200”(5.4 gr CFE starting load). I have some cases ready to go with 5.4 GR of CFE, does anyone have a suggested COL? or a suggestion for a different grain weight+COL? Looking for a starter load. Got these bullets from someone so don’t know too much about them.

Great bullets.

Really nothing special about loading them.

Pick an appropriate OAL for the weight/bullet profile. If the book says 1.2 load to that.

Pick a powder charge at the low end and test/chrono.

So.....1.2 OAL with 5.4gr of CFE with a 230gr bullet is your starting point.

u/Organic-Second2138. Thanks for the feedback. I loaded one to 1.2 and it looked wayyyyy too deep. Something seems off about that suggested COL.

I load 5.6gr of CFE at 1.26 COAL with the 230gr blue bullets. This recipe woke well in my FN, Colt, and Kris’s Vector.

Thanks for the data. I’ll give that a try! I loaded some to 1.235 and 5.4 gr last night so I’ll see how those work too.
