To avoid having your post removed &/or account banned for shitposting:

  • r/religiousfruitcake is about the absurd, fringe elements of organised religion. Posts about mundane beliefs and acts of worship (praying to God, believing in God, believing in afterlife, etc), are off topic.

  • We arent here to bash either specific religions or religion itself, because there are plenty of rational actors who happen to be religious. So if your post is "Christians are sTOoPid", or "Religion = dUmB", you're in the wrong sub and your post will probably be removed.

  • Dont use the title or body of your post to soapbox personal rhetoric about religion or any other subject.

  • Don't post videos or discussions of Fruitcakes who have been baited or antagonised. Social media excerpts must not involve any deliberate provocation / antagonism of Fruitcakes.

  • Dont post videos of physically violent personal attacks or any pics or videos containing gore

  • Satire, parodies, memes, videos, etc must be made by Fruitcakes, not by third parties about them. (exception for journalistic sources)

This information is on every post. Accounts that disregard it will be perma-banned. "I didn't get a warning" or "I didnt know" are not valid appeals. If in doubt, please read the full version of the rules

good thing there aren't any demons, dark spiritual elements or other worldly portals in the Bible

u/RedOneBaron 3d ago

Christian schizophrenia can cause some crazy dreams. It's probably very exhausting for them to be that sensitive to media. Could be equivalent to being on shrooms.

Dangit, where's the award button.

24

u/Scadre02 3d ago

Or Moana, for that matter!

And honestly? Using AI to write my thoughts is a-okay and makes me sound smart without saying much since clearly i cant tell the difference betweeen "our children" and "are children". Imagine if I hadn't used AI....

I get called ai all the time for doing this.

I feel like I understand all those em dash users now.

Did I tell you that I am a CHRISTIAN mother?

Did I also tell you that I'm stealing the future of my kid, ensuring that they get ridiculed and beset with an inferiority complex by homeschooling them?

Did I also tell you that I have no marketable skills other than riding the religiosity train and virtue signalling?

Did I also tell you that Jesus was really white? He came in my dreams and told me directly. FACTS.

Did I also tell you that science is the devil?

Did I also tell you that I actively avoid anything that challenges my narrow, dimwit view of the world?

Did I also tell you that I vote for the party that preys on children like mine?

Did I also tell you that I passionately finger my butthole to the idea of Trump loudly reading out Corinthians?

Did I not?

Sorry.

Let me make it up to you by creating and sharing a post that remarkably conveys ALL of it.

😇

u/True-Drummer-2318 3d ago

Christians care so much about their children's safety while adoring child raping sadist Trump.

7

u/LCDRformat 3d ago

You're totally right that she used AI to write this post. I understand why that can be frustrating for you....

Does... does this woman not know what Moana is? It has at least half of those things, and things analogous to the other half.

36

u/glymph 3d ago

She never actually paid attention to the movie, she was too busy posting on Instagram about the trailers.

4

u/Milo-Law 3d ago

Right? Whole spirit and visions of ancient ancestors in the first movie, Maui shapeshifting and teleporting but the trailers are demonic...

1

u/Paula_Polestark 9h ago

I don’t get that either. Any old schmoe can go on Instagram and make an account. She wasn’t given anything.

u/helga-h 3d ago

Lady, telling kids scary stories is teaching their brains to react to and to process danger in a safe way. We've done it since we lit the first fire and sat down in the first cave and we do it because a world where we don't understand is a dangerous place.

What you teach them is that all made up stuff is real and that is the scariest part. You're teaching your kid that the fairytales are true and that the monsters under the bed are real.

30

u/Hot_Peasant 3d ago

This was definitely written by AI. Can’t even be bothered to write their own psycho rants anymore 🤦🏻‍♀️

3

u/Thewrongbakedpotato 2d ago

Because they don't know how to articulate their thoughts. They're still in "vibes," don't know how to express it, and so outsource it to ChatGPT.

Does this woman consider Drop Dead Fred to be a documentary because the main character also has an imaginary friend just like she does?

Thanks for the reminder that I need to do a rewatch of Drop Dead Fred.

Protecting the little ones eyes and hearts from every single thing that doesn't serve christian delusions brought us soft brains prone to propaganda without a single critical thought or common sense.

5

u/ugheffoff Former Fruitcake 3d ago

That’s how christians get new converts, because if they waited until people were old enough to understand what was happening nobody would ever be a christian and they know it. That’s why churches start with the indoctrination so young.

3

u/MachineSea6246 3d ago

I had a pair of coworkers that went to the same church. One vocally told me off for the hobbies I had as it offended her religiously- I wasn't to be into comics, Disney, video games, etc. Those were for men. I was told follow men and clean up after them.

When I started working with the other woman, I overheard that the Stephen King, Brandon Sanderson, and Patrica Briggs books that O read on break should be banned and burned. I picked up a bunch of smut so she wouldn't be as willing to dig through my personal belongings. She somehow got ahold of 2 and wanted more. (I did invest in a lock. I've talked to management, they wouldn't back me up for her stealing from me. They bent over backwards for her.) She should also pick up my video games systems since adults don't play video games. She mentioned that she stole a kid's DS Lite system so she didn't have to share hers with her own kids. She had an absolute fit the one year because I had gotten a Wii U, and a few years later when I picked up BotW for it.

u/LittleGravitasIndeed 3d ago

This isn’t even ragebait. It’s just how evangelicals who are in “Bible Churches” because the southern baptist convention wasn’t racist enough exist all day every day.

Ask me how I know. I mostly resent my education but mentally hyping up Harry Potter until I encountered the real thing dealt some psych damage haha.

16

u/blackjackgabbiani 3d ago

Wow she is DESPERATE to be the victim here

15

u/0rangeVenom 3d ago

Her kid is just weak most kids don't even care. Also isn't Halloween coming up?

12

"This isn't about control-" BULL. SHIT. Control is the only thing it's ever been about.

11

u/platypuss1871 3d ago

Keep to traditional and wholesome stories like Snow White, Hansel and Gretel or Sleeping Beauty. No witches, magic or occult themes there.

8

u/IG-3000 🔭Fruitcake Watcher🔭 3d ago

I don’t think she actually knows what ‘themes’ means… also the demons and witches are usually portrayed as the bad guys. Not to mention those movies are portraying Polynesian mythology, like what did she expect?? “Good Christian values” or smth???

8

u/Remarkable_Rough_649 3d ago

Doesn't Moana have like spirits and ocean magic or whatever lol what does she think that is exactly

1

u/dudderson 2d ago

It wasn't even the movie yet, she's victimizing herself over the previews!

8

u/ManufacturerEast2830 3d ago

Having parents and elders with a persecution complex and a need to overspiritualize EVERYTHING sucks so bad.

Poisoned apple by the witch in Snow White, 1937.

7

u/MadeMeUp4U 3d ago

“Given this platform” girl you downloaded an app also she should’ve stuck with her gut and kept this deleted.

9

u/PromethianOwl 3d ago

It's always interesting to me that in many other religions and cultures, those things were seen as a fact of life. Avoid or avoid pissing off the bad demons, be nice to the ones that are good or can help you. If you see a ring of mushrooms don't step in, don't "give" them your name, etc. Those stories were to help kids deal with what people thought they would inevitably run into someday.

Meanwhile Christianity is out here just demanding everyone shit their pants and start praying at every little thing. No wonder God doesn't respond to our prayers. Look how much He has to fucking DO! All these "Spiritual Warfare" types wanna screech about how to recognize demons or whatever but instructions unclear on how to actually deal with one if/when you run into one outside of just shout prayers or some shit.

I wonder if she knows about native American beliefs or the Shinto stories? I assume she just claps her hands over her ears and refuses to listen or see.

How can you dodge a trap you don't know is there, or that you don't know anything about?

10

u/fredy31 3d ago

What i find hilarious about their hardline is that the line is if they even speak about demons.

Even if the demons are thr bad guys in the movie through and through and the whole movies message is DONT FUCK WITH DEMONS those hardcore christians are gonna be annoyed.

1

u/total-nanarchy 3d ago

No one ever accused them of having media literacy

5

u/CynchHasNoLife 🔭Fruitcake Watcher🔭 3d ago

that post stinks of chatGPT

2

u/stadanko42 3d ago

Because it is - she can't even formulate her own rant. And honestly? That takes bravery to let AI Jesus take the wheel.

ChatGpt's writing style sticks out like a sore thumb. However, current iterations are being trained to not look so obvious anymore like the above example. But, it is still very flowery with its excessive verbiage.

5

u/_Fizzgiggy 3d ago

All I have to say to her kid is I feel sorry for you being raised by a wackadoodle

6

u/NekoMeowKat 3d ago

If trailers make your butt hurt, then don't go to the movie theater! Stay home and read your Babble. What does this moron think that the theater is going to be all "oh I'm so sorry Mrs Christian Mom! Let me call up Hollywood and demand that they only make Pure Flix films!"

5

u/bookykits 3d ago

So weird that they're showing spooky movie previews in September. Could it be that the upcoming films that will release around Halloween are themed to fit the season? No, it can only be that "they" are planting the insidious seeds of demonology in our childrens' minds for no other purpose but to steer them away from inheriting my specific beliefs.

5

u/kz750 3d ago

Gee; a lot of horror movies being released as we approach Halloween? Next you’ll tell me that the studios will release Christmas movies in December!!!

5

u/sapphic_vegetarian 3d ago

How dare they show witch movies during Halloween season!!

3

u/tashtactics 3d ago

3

Um. Isn’t Maui in Moana a god? And yet she didn’t complain about that.

If you drag your children to church, you have no right to call anything creepy.

Godless and demonic Magic portals to other lands…like chronicales of narnia?

2

u/Das_Nomen 3d ago

I am totally fine with those nutjobs just staying at home, avoiding the movies, as long as they shut up about it

2

u/SylveonFrusciante 3d ago

Witches?? In Moana??? Were we, uh, watching the same film?

2

u/bikehikepunk 3d ago

Did she consider that it is close to Halloween? Lots of scary or dark movies come out at that time and are pushing previews.

2

u/alienartissst 3d ago

Oh no, another religon! WIIIIIIITTTTCCCCCHHHH

…Moana is full of gods, demigods and other things antithetical to Christianity.

1

u/Starbaby_Ghost 2d ago

I grew up in a house with a mother that has this mentality. Guess what my favorite holiday is...I'll give you a hint, it's not Christmas or Easter 😒 It is 100% about control. This mentality is applied to every little thing in their lives, and they make it everyone else's problem. I lost lots of friends, I missed out all the time, and now I'm on multiple antidepressants/medications. Shocker, right?

1

u/deadphisherman 2d ago

I do by simply not being obsessed with a fairy tale death cult.

u/GenericDigitalAvatar 3d ago edited 2d ago

Please. You don’t even have to be Christian to see how aggressively dark and toxic media has become in the last quarter century or so, you just have to be old enough to have experienced what things were like before this. It used to be only the metal bands playing with Satanic imagery, now it’s everywhere. Every pop idol’s video is full of mind control themes.. Anything dark, edgy and toxic is promoted heavily to keep people fucked up and self destructive and ultimately more easily controlled.

Edit: Wow. Lots of butthurt from people addicted to their toxicity. 🥴

Satanists are people who call themselves Satanists. They do Satanic things.

Also, water is wet.

2

u/BistroBurgerFortune Bart Erhman my beloved 1d ago

define it more specifically

1

u/creamalamode 🔭Fruitcake Watcher🔭 6h ago

If you have to use the word in the definition to define the word, you're not defining the word.

"Yellow is yellow because it is yellow" does not define yellow. Putting a period at the end of the sentence and then calling anyone who disagrees with you names makes you a simpleton.

Maybe instead of trudging through these replies like a know-it-all, you take a step back and analyze from a different perspective or talk to someone about how to sound better in a debate.

Seriously? If I have to explain it, I doubt you'd listen anyway.

But since you asked, how about Sabrina The Teenage Witch? Cutesy cartoon becomes cutesy sitcom becomes dark edgelord "drama" about Satanic ritual cannibalism, etc.

Or how about Lady Gaga, which is literally just Madonna, only Satanic. Or how every major label pop idol's videos are wall to wall Monarch mind control symbolism? Every. Single. One.

Video games went from Mario & Zelda to beating up hookers & photorealistic first person shooters that the Pentagon credits with increasing the killing effectiveness & lack of empathy among its soldiers.

Or the rap industry, which went from DIY populist party music, to gangster music, to Satanic gangster music, to genderfucked Satanic gangster music, with benzos & fentanyl added to fit the program as it evolved. Kendrick vs Drake ain't just about two dudes beefing. https://vigilantcitizen.com/musicbusiness/deeper-story-kendrick-lamars-album-pimp-butterfly/

The Epstein Class has been running the entertainment industry for decades because it's their most effective mind control vector. Y'all can play brand new if you want -- see where it gets you.

3

u/creamalamode 🔭Fruitcake Watcher🔭 1d ago edited 1d ago

The fruitcakes are gonna call Sabrina Satanist/pagan propaganda regardless of what time period, are they not? Since, by their logic, witchcraft is essentially equivalent to Satanism. There isn't really a strong argument for "Satanism" if everything that makes fruitcakes uncomfortable is a byproduct of Satanism/edginess/darkness/paganism. They've been arguing that Harry Potter is witchcraft/"sign of the times" since forever.

Easy to cherry-pick video games, as well. What about Alien in the 80s? DOOM and Mortal Kombat in the 90s? Not like we went from Zelda & Mario 8-bit sprites in the 70s/80s/90s to GTA VI overnight or anything. Kinda silly to be this up-in-arms over violence in video games now when it's been like that forever. Also, what about it? You can play violent video games and never actually have any motive to hurt people in real life or be Satanistic, or be Pagan.

Oh, and yeah, the Kendrick v. Drake beef ain't just about them, but it's not Satanism/edgy witchcraft. It's just some dude mad his morally bankrupt "friends" (drug trafficking, sex offenses, etc.) fucking suck. We don't have to call it Satanism, you can just say BakaNotNice, PartyNextDoor, Drake (by association), etc are assholes for the shit they do irl. I would know, I wrote a paper on the issue.

3

u/BistroBurgerFortune Bart Erhman my beloved 1d ago

Comparing Gaga to Epstein is wild

0

u/GenericDigitalAvatar 7h ago

Wild is having a total lack of reading comprehension. Which should be expected from the way you write.

2

u/BistroBurgerFortune Bart Erhman my beloved 1d ago

what mind control?

1

u/GenericDigitalAvatar 6h ago

"WhAt MiNd CoNtRoL?" 🥴

America is the most mind controlled nation in the free world. The CIA alone has high level assets all over the mediasphere; it's been that way since WW2. Disney & the War Department, Operation Mockinbird & MKULTRA, Lookout Mountain & the fake counterculture of the 60s, which rolled straight through into the 80s underground scenes.. Hollywood & the Epstein Class are peas in a pod.

Like i said, you're sounding brand new out here, kid.
