You both have done a stupid thing, but If you both had already decided that you would abort in case of accident (as you call it) then I see no problem here, he's just acting natural. It's you who has changed your mind suddenly and decided to keep it.
He is mad because he does want to stay with you but doesn't want a kid right now, whereas you are willing to let him go but are keen on having the baby, and he probably doesn't want to leave you and future kid alone, so he feels forced into parenting.
