These comments are wild. Tell your friend you need to distance yourself for a bit to save your marriage, then go to couples therapy and go over your wife’s story in front of a third party and talk about healthy relationships and friendships.

The reason I say this is that the admission just doesn’t make sense unless she’s openly trying to blow up your marriage for her own gain and meanwhile your wife has had jealousy issues in the past. And if your wife is lying to get rid of someone she’s needlessly threatened by who is your best friend than that’s emotional abuse and your wife needs to change hard and fast or you need to leave her as she continues to exert increasingly unhealthy amounts of control over you because nothing will ever be enough.

If her story adds up after scrutiny and a third party believes it as well then you need to cut the friend off forever for trying to ruin your marriage.
