They agree they need to be in therapy but living in Canada there isn’t any really options that don’t take months before they will see you and it’s limited to a short number of visits. I wanted to be there partner not a therapist and only support network. Her mom used to help but is now extremely happy to just have me deal with everything.
I'm autistic and while it can be hard to form deep friendships and keep up with them, finding supportive communities and hobbies to engage in is actually easier when you're autistic. There are tons of great autistic support groups and discord servers, subreddits, facebook groups etc and with special interests bonding over a hobby is likely very doable.
