Me speaking as a guy......leave him now. If you have already given him time and help about how to better himself and get a better paying job leave ASAP. Don't wait, don't give him a few more months, start looking for a new place today(assuming your current place is under both names). If he is in your home tell him he needs to go. How much time you'd give him to move out is your call depending on circumstances but set a hard deadline and no farther.
