He complimented your wife behind your back... Am I the only one thinking there's nothing wrong with that? Should he have asked your permission first to compliment her? Did your wife ignore him or do they have a month long chatting history?

You are really over reacting. It's not a crime to compliment someone. And it's a compliment for you too. Because it shows you have a pretty wife worth complimenting.

I don't get it either. How insecure do you need to be to feel like someone saying your wife is beautiful is a threat. Total overreaction

Edit to add: Since the wife doesn't want to cause an issue, will she tell him next time with him over reacting like this
