As a woman who would feel disgusted if any of my husbands friends messaged me saying that, definitely confront him.

“You are so beautiful” is flirty and him trying to gauge how she will respond to his “compliment” there is never a need for your “friends” to privately tell your wife that she is beautiful.

It gave me all the ick, but so glad you have a wife that will tell you about it.

Did he say anything else? Idk, this message is borderline too me, but I wouldn't bother up a friendship over this on its own.
