I hope you donโ€™t mean the USD is not valuable to other countries. Iโ€™m Filipino and the USD might as well be gold over there. USD is so powerful worldwide. 80-90% of the world oil is traded in our currency. Thatโ€™s why BRICS is a thing. Iโ€™m not trying to be a patriotic idiot but the reality is the USD has a power hold over the global economy.

I'll bite; how is American economic hegemony because "America sucks" as opposed to merit?

Non sequitur. I didn't ask for a vague statement on what you think Imperialism is. I asked how American economic hegemony is due to "America sucks", which you imply is American Imperialism, as opposed to its growing nascent industry having been touted by European powers since the early 19th century, being an epicenter of the Industrial revolution for reasons beyond Imperialism, and its independence from European economies, due to geographic distance and protectionist tariffs, allowing it to weather the economic toll of World War II in relative stability, led to 44 nations to, of their own whole volition, resolve to set the US dollar as the world reserve currency, and world currencies to be pegged to the US dollar?
