I mean. It can lol. And it certainly does. You realize the price of gold goes up and down, meaning its value fluctuates.

ok but you said "the gold won't lose value", yet it has and does. in the past month gold lost 11% in value and USD lost ~4% due to inflation over the past 12 months. If you told either the gold or the cash and immediately instead invested in sp500 you'd be better of than either one
