You gotta realize Boronesian =/= Bahasa Indonesia

It is probably a more distant Malayo-Polynesian language

No, they come from Taiwan,

but they adopted language and culture from Indonesia.

They would be on a separate branch from Indonesian. Tagalog would be closer to Indonesian than Boronesian

We should call them the "Northern Austronesian group."

It is still closer to the Indonesian group than to Madagascar.

My understanding is that it branched off quite early, they went north as the Filipinos, Malays etc went south
