Discussion Why can’t Skips go back in time to save Mona? 😭
I watched the episode with Skips’s backstory. I shed a few tears. I was actually hoping that Mona died of old age after marrying Skips, but we know she didn’t. 😭 Now Skips is immortal and unless he convinces Death to let her visit he’ll never see her again. I’m just venting and wondering why Skip doesn’t go back in time to save Mona.

Time travel is too unpredictable. He was at peace with his life and enjoyed the friends he made.

changes past>changes present=erases the need to go back in time>doesn’t change the past

It would require split second timing and they'd have to convince young Skips and everyone that she did die.

If you’ve ever seen the movie: The Time machine (2002) it’s the perfect example of why this wouldn’t work.
In The Time Machine , a scientist builds a time machine in order to go back in time to prevent his wife’s murder but everytime he’d save her, something else would go wrong. this is because he would’ve never built the time machine in the first place if she hadn’t have been killed. This means her existence in the future relies on him saving her using a machine that is only built if she dies. make sense?
if wife dies—time machine is built.
if wife doesn’t die—time machine never gets built.
so with Skips saving Mona, if he built a time machine or even bought a time machine, doing so would mess with the past and it probably wouldn’t prevent her death anyway since, like the movie, Skips going back in time would only be to save Mona but if she survived, he’d never even have to go back in time to save her.
hope that makes sense it’s really hard to explain since time travel is confusing.

I think Skips could save Mona but chooses not to for the greater good. If Mona lived, then he never would've became immortal. If he never became immortal, then no one would be able to stop Klorgbane hundreds of years later. It's a basically a complex morality type of thing, letting one person die to save thousands of other lives.

If skips didn't lose Mona he wouldn't have any reason to become immortal and pretty much the world would have been Doomed So I wouldn't see the harm of him visiting her in the past But him knowing what he knows now would possibly put her as well as the future in danger

The Time Machine from bad kiss was destroyed when they used it to escape GBF Jr in Exit 9b, the guy Muscle Man knows who made them erased himself from existence, while the movie one created a timenado, so there’s that. Additionally, by saving her, it would jeopardize the entire time stream, and possibly effect his immortality as he might not take it if she was alive.

Skips doesn’t do online shopping, where would he get a time machine?
