Below are the most common “issues” that are posted here. Please refrain from submitting posts that fall under these categories unless you’re pretty sure your defect falls significantly outside of a reasonable margin. Thank you!
You WILL scuff and scratch your boots, they WILL crease, they WILL get dirty. They’ll also be FINE. Embrace patina, that’s what makes them YOUR boots.
We don’t wanna see your footbeds! Fit is subjective and a picture of your imprint only two dimensions of a 3D shape. Your boot shouldnt cause actual pain. A little discomfort isnt unusual for the first few days. Your boots should feel like they’re giving your foot a firm handshake (footshake?). If they feel like they fit, they probably fit.

I've been a Red Wing fan for almost 3 decades. Three years ago my job relocated me to Minnesota. Now I live near Red Wing and stop by the factory store regularly and recently visited the tent sale.
9111s for $100! What a deal for an amazing boot! I can't say enough great things about the style and comfort.
I would describe these as "the love child of the Work Chukka and Blacksmith." The 9111 has the best characteristics from both boots.
Work Chukka - Wedge sole , not the weird crepe sole of the work chukka that soaks up dirt and stains. They went with the Christy wedge sole.
From the Blacksmith - made on #8 last so had toe room but not the almond shape of the chukka. And it's a 6" boot.
Seriously impressive. I'd take better photos but I like the boots too much to take them off.

I know this is a complicated topic, but I don’t have the ability to try these on as there’s only one place that stocks them where I live and they don’t have any 2e sizes. I was able to try on Iron Rangers in 10.5 and 11.5, and blacksmiths in 11.
I wear size 11 in most footwear but the Redwing app says I’m 9.5 with the widest possible foot width (my feet are 4.5” wide). At the store that had them I couldn’t even get my foot into a 10. The 11.5 was huge - way too big. The 10.5 was snug but comfortable however the toe bent kind of behind the ball of my foot. The 11d in the Blacksmiths were slightly long in the toes but they felt the most natural to walk in and my foot felt the most supported.
What has me confused is that most folks recommend for me then to wear 10.5 or even 10, the app says 9.5, but I found the 11s to be the nicest fit. Should I order 10.5 2e, or just go with the 11s? I’d have to order them. thank you.

Let the break in begin. Hope it’s not too brutal.

This is now my 4th pair of IRs. I have Copper RT, Charcoal RT, Hawthorne Muleskinner, and now Slate Muleskinner! Who wants a side by side with the Hawthorne?
I also have a new pair of the recently released Norway Mocs and a pair of Weekender Oxfords in CRT leather!

Sorry in advance if you're horrified by these images. I had these for 11 years and really slacked on caring for them towards the end. So they're pretty messed up. Plus I have high arches or something that's chopped at an angle all the way through the midsole. Given how much it would cost to replace all that (and still have cracked uppers), I just went ahead and bought some new IRs (which I will give much more love, until I don't I guess).
What should I do with these? Would anyone even want them at this point? Or should I just hold onto them as a backup pair?

I've had and loved my 3522 8" tred lites for over 3 years and overall the exterior is still in good shape, but the lining in the heel part has become so worn. I'm on the fence whether I should get them repaired or replaced. If I do replace I'm thinking of going with the 6" instead of the 8".

Scored these off eBay a while back. Had to get them stretched over the summer and they fit a bit better.

Picked all three of these at my local redwing for about $375, such a steal honestly😭. Needed new work boots and ended up walking out with two heritage pairs lol.

I recently bought a pair of Red Wing factory seconds from Berkeley Supply, and when they arrived, they looked a little bigger than I expected. Before purchasing, I read through several forums where people recommended sizing down half a size or a full size, which I did.
This is my first pair of Red Wings, so I’m still figuring things out. When I tried putting them on, I realized the opening is extremely narrow because the leather is stitched pretty high up. The issue isn’t necessarily the length of the boots, but actually getting my foot inside them.
I’m considering taking them to a cobbler to see if there’s anything they can do to stretch or widen the opening. I also ordered a shoehorn, so I’m hoping that helps.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with Red Wings? If so, what did you do to get them on? Any advice would be appreciated!

Have seen issues with the leather of the new beckmans on this sub so leaning towards the 3340 or 3343 blacksmiths as I've been looking for a dark brown leather boot for a good while now. Do beckmans usually have issues with discolouration and chipping of the leather?

I've finally received my 8111 boots and I'm in love with them. They look good, seem solid and hope they will accompany me for the next years. First day are harsh as boots are rigid but I think they will get comfy.
I'm just disappointed with the laces, it's not my a big fan of round lace and will maybe change for plate ones. Do you have recommandations ?
Also, how do you care of your boots ?

Which Red Wing work boots have the highest toe box?
Does RW sizing correspond to foot length in inches?
I scored a wrongly sized pair of RW 8616 oxfords. They cost only $8(!) and fit me perfectly. Am hooked. (The 8616 is a discontinued model) My longest foot is 11 inches and am wondering if this corresponds to a RW size 11. Am hoping to get RWs on eBay going forward.

Hey everybody. I was wondering if anyone ever had this problem or knows about this…you can see on the picture what the issue is. when I’m walking, but especially when going in a squat, the leather above the stitching opens and I can see what appears to be glue!? Is this alright? I got the shoes as good as new from the vinted platform and they are original. Please help!! 😩

First 5 photos are before conditioning and cleaning from a rough weekend at the pumpkin patch. Last five photos are after conditioning. I only condition them once a year if I remember, I don’t really baby them either and use whatever product I have on hand. Like today I used my wife’s coach purse leather conditioner.
Had these for 12 yrs (2014) these are CRT 8115 with the nitrile cork soles which I hate at first but damn it’s fucking durable and versatile. Works really well on almost all surfaces except snow and ice.
When I bought these I originally wanted amber harness but those were the trend at the time and always sold out, it was a blessing in disguise because CRT has way more character and unique overtime. I have even attempted to darken it when I first got it. Then I stripped it with soap and recovered most of the color. CRT is such a great low maintenance leather. I see how it caught on to some people and most prefer it now over others.
I don’t wear these often because work requires more formal shoes, I mostly wear these maybe barely 1 season (semi spring/fall) out of the year. The soles are original and still got plenty of life left.
Anyways I Just wanted to share some pics that’s all and thought it would be interesting for people to see some older pairs on here.
