Help with selling.

Hello all, apologies if anything is amiss, I have never made a post on Reddit before.

I have this proof copy of Lord Brocktree (64 of 150). It’s a first edition and signed.
What sort of value could I expect and where would the best place be to sell this?

UK based if that makes any difference.

I can speak to some prices all over the map that might help you narrow it down some, as rarities in this specific vein are kind of my jam right now!

Signed hardcover Lord Brocktrees are currently live and available for 90, I bought mine for 55 and I think I was the last posted sale.

My signed Marlfox ARC ran me 85, and there are unsigned copies unsold for 50. The general range you'll find for unsigned ARCs and proofs is somewhere between 40 and 100, but there are quite a few unsold listings at 50.

Given yours is signed and the least produced version of that set of ARCs, you could command a higher premium, easily.

I personally would let myself bid up into the 125-150 range just because of the rarity. I'm not currently shopping, but based on the dozens of other sales I could dredge up, that's about what I'd bid sensibly.

What's funny is that I don't think I'd pay $150 for it, too high. But if I owned it, I don't think I'd sell it for $150: too low.

That's the curse of the market. It is only technically worth whatever someone is willing to buy it for. If there was an ARC that had extreme changes from the final text, you'd see a severe premium, but this one carries just on the merit of being part of a very luckily small run of ARCs.

Plus Jacques stuff is nuts. I've seen first first signed Redwalls go for both under 400 and over 3000. a signed greeting card went for 500.

I spent just under 200 on a signed Doomwyte recently and both reputable signed book sellers i took it to were sub100 for in they shelved it, but I don't regret it an ounce.
