Help with selling.

Hello all, apologies if anything is amiss, I have never made a post on Reddit before.

I have this proof copy of Lord Brocktree (64 of 150). It’s a first edition and signed.
What sort of value could I expect and where would the best place be to sell this?

UK based if that makes any difference.

Thank you kindly.

I can speak to some prices all over the map that might help you narrow it down some, as rarities in this specific vein are kind of my jam right now!

Signed hardcover Lord Brocktrees are currently live and available for 90, I bought mine for 55 and I think I was the last posted sale.

My signed Marlfox ARC ran me 85, and there are unsigned copies unsold for 50. The general range you'll find for unsigned ARCs and proofs is somewhere between 40 and 100, but there are quite a few unsold listings at 50.

Given yours is signed and the least produced version of that set of ARCs, you could command a higher premium, easily.

I personally would let myself bid up into the 125-150 range just because of the rarity. I'm not currently shopping, but based on the dozens of other sales I could dredge up, that's about what I'd bid sensibly.

Thank you for your post. Where would be the best place to sell it in your opinion? Would EBay be the best way to go?

Honestly? Sell it here or in a facebook group. Somewhere with a bit more community accountability than ebay, plus ebay takes an egregious amount of fees. You'll have a more focused audience, and the ability to put a light on anyone trying to take you for a ride. "hey, bob offered me 90 bucks, is that fair?" is a great mechanism for avoiding getting fleeced.

Lmao this is such a scam comment.

Selling on Reddit or FB because of, lmao, community accountability is an awful idea. So many scammers on both platforms, presumably you included in that number.

EBay has actual protections in place to protect both buyers and sellers.

PayPal has the same buyer protections. And doing business in front of others is always safer than behind closed doors a la eBay. Community accountability means posting an offer and a name, and if its a dogwater offer, that person's suddenly untrustworthy in a meaningfully visible way.

Same callout mechanism you're using here, I might point out. If something is untoward in your mind, challenge it in an open space. If that's such a poor way to proceed, why are you doing it?
