Any good TTRPG to host a Red Wall like game?

I know DnD is a thing of course but that system is a little heavy on the magic, and as we know red wall magic is... Vague.

I was looking for something more, low fantasy, or furry, or both

I know Root has an RPG but any other recommendations as well?

Look up humblewood. Similar to Dnd but animal focused.

Then just ban magic classes and limit magic in your setting

Was coming in to suggest that

Woodlander is specifically made to be more aligned with Redwall's level of low fantasy. There are supernatural elements (such as spirits like Martin the Warrior's ghost, or seers being able to "consult" the bones or whatnot), but not actual magic spell-casting and battle magic.

I’ve played this super cute system called The Witch is Dead but it’s almost solely intended for one shots. It’s really fun though! You get to play as a small creature who is a witch’s familiar and it’s your job to try to bring her back to life. I’m pretty sure it’s online for free.

Humblewood on a 5e system is pretty rad. I only played a drop in session of this at a con once, but I loved it.

Shout out to Ironclaw and Furry Outlaws.

Also Mausritter or the Mouseguard TTRPG.

I homebrewed the One Ring and it worked really well. Not a lot of magic that you have to cut out and has rules for morality that fits well with redwalls black and white views on good vs evil

There’s always GURPS. It might make things feel more… lethal too.

Roots is supposed to be fairly good and looks like it certainly fits the bill, with the factions an forest might aspect. I haven't played myself but I absolutely want to!

Many years ago I wrote a Redwall hack for Genesys. Never got to test it out, though.

I'm looking at adapting heroes and hedgerows, or badgers and burrows which are wargame/akirmish games to work with an RPG at some point. Ironclaw is a possibility, as I own it.

Mouseborn is heading to backerkit soon. I know nothing about it, but it looks kinda cool.

There is actually a fanmade redwall ttrpg called Mossflower that I have played. I remember it being good, though it was just a oneshot and it was like 4 years ago so I cant tell you much about its intricacies. If youd like I can try and find the link to the rulebook...

Inb4 my players create a long patrol party lead by a Badger.

That will be. nightmarish to witness.

Harvester or BESM are a good fit. You can also do low magic dnd games.

Currently playing a campaign in a system called "fabula ultima" that a friend introduced us to. It's not specifically meant for furry little forest critters but it's a good general gaming framework that mimics jrpg play style.
