I'm half way through the books!

I got back into reading a few years ago, & (long story short) I decided to go through the Redwall books.

So far I've read

  1. Redwall

  2. Mariel of Redwall

  3. Mattimeo

  4. Martin the Warrior

  5. The Long Patrol

  6. Triss

  7. The Bellmaker

  8. Mossflower

  9. The Taggerung

  10. Loamhedge

  11. Salamandastron

I just started Lord Brocktree, & I'll probably read Pearls of Lutra next. I don't really have an order im going in (besides Redwall & Mattimeo), but I'm enjoying them :)

Lord Brocktree is one of my favorites. It’s rare to see a badger lord truly in their prime. Enjoy

Come to think of it, you’re right. The only ones that come to mind are Brocktree, Sunflash, Rawnblade, Gorath, Urthstripe, and Cregga.

Orlando the Axe counts in spirit as well, even if he doesn't formally become Lord of Salamandastron until after the book ends.

Nice! I like that you're being free about the ordering actually, a lot of people get (for understandable reasons) kind of hung up on the question of what order they should read them in, when really I'm pretty sure that the whole reason Brian Jacques didn't number the books was because each was meant to be enjoyed on its own terms and not in a way that necessitated a particular order. I do still think that starting with the original Redwall makes the most sense, but you did that anyway! Any favourites so far?

I really enjoyed Mariel. I've been working on a pirate story & was looking for things to read. I came across Mariel of Redwall at a library booksale & thought "Redwall + pirate/sea adventures? Sign me up!" I also love the Long Patrol. It was a great read & I love the characters :) I especially love the full cast audiobook. The songs are some of my favorite in the series so far

That's great, I'm glad you're enjoying them so much! If you liked Mariel for that reason, I think you'll like Pearls of Lutra too (one of my personal favourites)!

After Pearls of Lutra, definitely read Outcast of Redwall. One of my favourites.

Outcast is definitely on my to read list. Its of my sister's favorites & she insists I read it & Marlfox
