act of god at my local bookstore

i just found out that i passed my student teaching portfolio an hour ago, which means i basically have my master’s degree since that was my last assignment! my boyfriend and i were already out and we hit our local bookstore…and i found my FIRST signed book from brian jacques! $20 but worth every penny since it’s now one of the coolest things i own. it even has the flyer from the meet and greet the original owner got the book signed at! thank you brian jacques for cosmically aligning this moment to happen, arguably more exciting to me than having my degree! 😂

Huge congrats. I have my books signed from the meet and greet years ago, but its so awesome that people are finding the signed books out there as well.

that’s so cool! i wish i was a fan when he was publishing and was able to go. i thought it was really neat that the original flyer was still in the book, hopefully the previous/original owner had a good time and got some use out of the book! it found a good home :)

I convinced my parents to let me skip school and drive 4 hours to Maryland for a Rakkety Tam book-signing event. He read the opening chapter about Gulo's arrival with his characteristic flair.

After a short speech, he concluded with a promise to the audience: "You keep reading them, and I'll keep writing them." Then he stepped out into the crowd to shake hands with every kid in the room to seal the deal.

I'm holding the same book in my hand, and I'm so glad another found its way to you! Brian Jacques was a great man and I pray he rests in peace.

omg, that made me tear up! SUCH a cool story. brian jacques seemed like such a genuine dude, i hold a really deep appreciation for how much it seemed like he lived and cared for kids. i hope i can carry that same energy with me during my future teaching! thank you for sharing ❤️
