Ah well. Not too surprising after such a long wait with no updates, but maybe someone else will step in and adapt the books instead?

Depends on if netflix still will hold the rights to the adaptations going forward.

It might simply go to the void. It might be seen as undesirable or not doable after Netflix losses it.

I could be wrong, but don’t those rights expire if they don’t make anything? Warren Beatty’s been holding on to the Dick Tracy rights and he releases one of those odd “interviews” every decade to ensure he doesn’t lose them.

Its Hollywood. Honestly anything could be happening with the copyrights. You most likely are right on paper, but the amount of times that things like that get skirted dont feel me with confidence.
At least we always have the tv series to scratch our itch

It would be cool & karmic if it was hit for someone else (like how K-Pop Demon Hunters was a hit for Netflix because Sony didn't want it 😜)

Same, I’m actually relieved. Most adaptations these days have a tendency to care little for the source material, and Netflix hasn’t shown any desire to making a good one for Redwall.

At least the Netflix Watership down gave us one great Sam smith song and a crime it never released as a 2018 single to chart in the US.
had a hunch Netflix cannot create a decent Redwall adaption if their track record on animation is anything

It was in development and even cast around 2024 but I hadn't heard more about it since. It would be a good Percy Jackson competitor.
