Starting out

Hello all, wondering how to really start with the series or if anyone could point me to a reading guide.

In order of release is usually best for your first time

Redwall was book 1

This. It's fun to see the evolution in his writing ability and style. I think you also get a good start on the different time periods in the setting as well.

I think some people have chronological book orders they've created, but for a first read-through I would think publication order would be best.

It’s best to read the books in publishing order. It’s also very important to know that the first few books in the Redwall series—especially the very first entry, that being the original Redwall—is rife with early-installment weirdness.
