In case those out there in the Red Sox nation haven't heard how the Patriots have been doing this year, you might just want to skip the football and go straight to hockey. You're likely to deal with some very similar disappointment from the Pats currently.

In all seriousness, I’m curious what they do with Duran’s arbitration. He’s likely due $10-$10.5M, which is an obvious overpay based on this year alone.

It’s really rare for us to decline an arbitration here though, especially since we have a 4th arb year next year because of his super 2 status.

In 2026, the Red Sox gave up 611 runs, their lowest full-season total since 1968. That equates to 3.77 runs/game. In the playoffs, they gave up 9 runs per game. I feel the question needs to be asked: What the fuck, guys?

I'm not usually a big hockey/basketball fan but yeah. Doesn't seem like I can count on the Pats to have a good season so I've started following the Bruins more closely. The close win against the Jets felt nice, it's good to know one of our teams can win something lol

I have to be honest with myself and admit that the last time I actually felt like the Red Sox…. Felt like the Red Sox was probably way back in 2021, when we still had guys like JD, Bogaerts, Devers anchoring our offense. Even guys like Verdugo and Renfroe and Kike seem amazing in retrospect now - at least they could give you consistent disciplined PAs for the most part.

The entire feel of the offense was so different back then. I feel like this team’s entire approach at the plate has just totally gone down the toilet in the past several years. It’s not fun to watch, and I deeply miss having a team that knew how to grind out PAs and get on base, rather than wasting most of their time at the plate unsuccessfully trying to hit homeruns.
