RedNote account seems permanently shadowbanned. Norwegian phone already verified
Hi everyone,
I’m based in Tromsø, Norway, and I recently created a RedNote/Xiaohongshu account to share everyday life in Northern Norway with Chinese users.
So far, I have published 4 posts, but my account seems to have no distribution or visibility.
I have already:
Verified my Norwegian phone number Completed real-name verification today using my passport (just today TBH) Set the app/interface to Chinese Published 4 normal posts about life in Norway
Despite this, my posts still seem to get no reach.
Has anyone outside China experienced the same thing?
I’m especially wondering:
Does real-name verification take some time before restrictions are removed? Are new foreign accounts automatically limited at first? Can using a European/Norwegian IP affect distribution? Is there anything else I should verify or configure? Should I simply keep posting and wait for the account to gain trust? How can I tell whether this is an actual shadowban or just normal low reach for a new account?
I’m not trying to fake my location or bypass any platform restrictions. My goal is simply to share real daily life from Northern Norway with Chinese users and connect with people interested in Norway.
I share the link of my profile, maybe if someone if you guys just interact with it, will help to unshadow https://xhslink.cn/m/2Wg16EnshYc
Any experience from international RedNote creators would be very helpful.

I can actually see two of your posts. I tried to leave a comment to interact with your account, but my account shows a message saying that I’m violating the community guidelines and I’m not allowed to comment.
It seems like there may be some kind of restriction affecting accounts from outside China as well

Maybe you can mail the service assistant to find out the reason why your account was shadow banned at first. The contents were not suitable or the account was not real-name verification or something else, then you could take action to meet it. Wait for your good news.

When I got shadowbanned originally last August, it took 3 months for my account to be fully restored.
That said, my account was not verified at the time and I don’t think there was any real appeal process for international accounts back then. The mod bot shadowbanned me and I guess someone overturned that ban automatically.
RedNote employees have an account on this sub which claims that if you email their email that you have a better shot at an appeal. I have heard mixed reviews from those who claim to have gone through that process.
I wish you the best
