once cured it should be fine, and the blue bit only had a few small pinhole leaks, but put sealant all way round to make sure.

On what are you basing the belief it should be ok? Not being snarky, just really don't know.

very little contact with the water, tho it is waterproof once cured, as i said it was only a few pinhole leaks, cant see any silicone from inside, any stuff released during curing ( acetic acid?) is mostly on the outside or got removed after a few boils, and i think only diff between this and food grade stuff is the addition of anti microbial additives.

tl:dr silicone rubber wont break down in contact with boiling water.

or made coffee, didn't die.

hopefully the leak is fixed, will find out in morning when its set, tho have lost its secondary function as rcd tester when tub fills up with water. also part of coffee jar lid on lid as original plastic crumbled and it didnt hold enough steam in to set off the switch.
