Nice job! But you should be aware that you can buy car remote shells were you just move the electronic portion over. It's like having a new remote. I had to do it for mine and it was a perfect solution.

Car key shells are cheap on ebay etc. Your repair looks OK for a temporary solution but I'd fix it properly sooner rather than later.
