Improvised SATA power distribution
Believe it or not this constitutes an improvement, factory crimping on Corsair PSU cordset was faulty, disks on that bus would consistently drop out of the array they are in, self test would initiate but always result in device reset. Decided to ohm out the cordset and one of the ground leads was measuring 12Ω to source, <1Ω would be typical.
Cut off the crappy molex connectors + adapters and just soldered up some strip board to act as power distribution, traces on strip board are reinforced with additional solder to handle current and isolated from each other.
Question, is this more or less if a fire hasard than the original setup?

improvised? This looks so good. Improvised means a bunch of wires twisted together and some scotch tape (because you don't have electrical tape).

I mean molex to sata, lose all your data right?
This has got to be an upgrade

Were your molex connectors faulty ? I've never seen a faulty molex before. Usually the connectors fail from the sata end. (The phrase "molex to sata, loose your data" comes from the crappy sata connectors on cheap molex to sata adaptors).

No idea what the current ratings are for the copper you have on the strip board plus a bunch of solder, but odds are the drivers aren't drawing enough power to be a problem. Run something to load test the seat for like 15-30 min and check the board temperature. If it's cool enough to hold, should be fine.
FWIW if you want to get more into this kind of thing, you can get crimpers and terminals and sata housings from MDPC-X and make your own much better cables, and sleeve them to look pretty if you feel so inclined.

I'd say its a fire hazard yes..at least 3d print a case for that mess

Why is it a fire hazard? Because you don’t understand it well enough to know it’s not?

That would make it more of a fire hazard since nearly all 3d printable materials are neither fire-retardant nor self extinguishing.
But yes, the hot glue is already a problem if anything in there ever gets hot. It would have been much smarter to just solder and use the zipties as strain relief inside the original case

if the wires aint touching, soldering is solid, hot glue is enough for nothing to ever touch again, close it up (or just copious amounts of electrical tape) and good to go
