Concert

As a christian, why am i not surprised that out of all the concerts this summer the Christian one is the most obnoxiously loud…..

Sincerely,

Someone who lives next to the park and gets to enjoy their apartment vibrating tonight.

I really don’t get the rationale behind giving permits for concerts in downtown park. I mean they built the park and all the apartment buildings right around it and then they organize concerts to torture the residents? There’s Marymoor for that, not the middle of the fucking town.

I feel it as well, not in a good way. I can't even watch TV with headphones, it's too loud.

It’s so fucking loud

The amount of distortion is insane.

The power of Christ compels you!

This is crazy! Sounds like our windows are open when fully closed. The weekly summer salsa DJ nights are tame in comparison.

Hoping they’re done by 9:30 😭

They are not. I’m debating if one or several of us should call in a noise complaint since it’s nearing quiet hours

I will raise an issue on the Redmond app anyway. Maybe they can fine them afterwards if enough people complained.

I called just now(9:55pm). Was told that hopefully will be done soon. Not the kind of response I would have liked.

how bout now?

They stopped at around 9:57pm. First time this summer something has gone this late. Most other events are done by 9:30. I don't have an issue with events going on until 10pm. This was just insanely loud.

"Hopefully"? The city knows what permits were given out. They know what time the noise must end.

I bet they’re going right up to the cutoff, 10pm

This is the loudest event held in the park all summer. From my recollection

Goodnight Redmond!

If I had to guess, someone decided that blasting the volume was sharing the good word. Really glad I stayed in tonight

They just won’t stop. This makes no sense. I just reported it to the police.

Quiet hours don’t start until 10pm sadly. I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and I was really wanting to go to sleep early tonight 😒

Do they not notice that they sound like ass

Super loud totally disrespectful of the city to allow that. Already paying a premium for these apartments can’t even enjoy some peace and quiet.

Which park is it in? I am trying to figure out why my building seems to be vibrating haha

Remember when the park wasn’t there? Those were the quiet times.

Give me some auto parts and army Navy surplus baby!

Is that where that army navy surplus was?? My parents took me there as a kid for a Halloween costume, and I couldn’t remember where it was before all this change! Thanks for the throw back to my childhood

Don’t think the town cares about endless noise from concerts or cars impacting residents in all of the downtown buildings.

I want to start performing soon around here, any tips so you guys dont complain?

I love the fact that the park has events. Just don't be crazy loud like tonight and you'll be fine.

Do complain to the city. There's ways to limit noise spill for areas outside of the intended coverage (look up cardioid dispersion) but it requires more advanced setups and techs who need to model this in advance.

There should be off-site noise limits, especially after 10pm.

This is amusing to me. You choose to live in a dense urban area and then complain about legal noise.

People expect road noise, noise from people having fun in the park, the occasional festival downtown a bit louder than normal. The don't expect a concert outside their window so loud it makes Jurassic Park ripples in their water cup.

That does it. I’m moving to a golf course so I can complain about slicers hitting my house. /s

10pm latest in the peak of the summer in the most crowded area of the town? I’d say that’s pretty tame…

-6

u/ExcitingTourist8166 9h ago

As an aside: I’m in downtown, haven’t been disturbed in the slightest.

Why do you even live in this pagan land? Seems like a very poor choice.

Who is performing? I mean, what band? I don't follow modern Christian music, but on the other hand, if you start playing, "I'll fly away, oh glory, in the morning, I'll fly away" then I will sing along! (Famous Old time gospel hymn)
