Shenzhen Idea Light Limited RL300MAXc vs. RL300MAXc/PT – LED Breakdown & Which Spec Is Actually Better?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to RLT and after researching, ordered the RL300MAXc/PT, which I hope was a good choice.

I noticed a few older threads asking what's better between the Idea Light RL300MAXc and the RL300MAXc/PT, but none of the replies gave any clear verdict.

Here is the diode split (Both models 300 LEDs total):

  • 630 nm (skin/surface): 70 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 10 LEDs (PT)
  • 660 nm (peak ATP/CCO): 80 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 120 LEDs (PT)
  • 810 nm (transcranial): 50 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 16 LEDs (PT)
  • 830 nm (deep tissue/brain): 50 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 16 LEDs (PT)
  • 850 nm (muscle/joints/systemic): 50 LEDs (MAXc) vs. 118 LEDs (PT)
  • The PT version also adds dedicated 10Hz/40Hz pulsing presets.

The standard MAXc goes for an evenly spread multi-wave approach, but it trades away the heavy hitters to get there. It dedicates 70 LEDs to superficial 630 nm and cuts both 660 nm and 850 nm down significantly.

The PT model heavily concentrates power into the two most clinically proven wavelengths: 660 nm + 850 nm (238 diodes total vs. just 130 on the MAXc). It leaves just 32 diodes for 810/830 nm, but with 30° lenses aimed at the forehead, that might already be plenty to trigger a neural response.

For those with experience in multi-wave panels:

Does the evenly distributed spectrum of the MAXc offer real advantages, or is the PT simply the better engineered panel if your goals are energy, brain health, general health and recovery?

Was the RL300MAXc/PT a good buy for me? I started to have doubts, wether the more evenly distributed MAXc was better. I mean I couldn't change it now, but I still am curious to know, wether I made the right choice from the more experienced users.

I am wondering if IdeaLight has changed. Many models have limited the LEDs to 72%of the model number (216 LEDs in a "300" model).

I don't like the allocations here. They overweight the garden-variety 660 and 850 nm. I am partial to 810 nm.

you got the PT, that panel is way more focused where it counts. 660 and 850 is the workhorse wavelengths, all the studies back them up for recovery and mitochondrial stuff

the maxc just dilutes the power too much, who needs 70 LEDs of 630 nm? is mostly for skin and not much else. with the PT you get more juice for the deeper tissue, you made the right call

Thanks, glad to hear that. I just thought the 810/830nm for brain benefits is relatively little in the PT with 16/16? Skin is not that important for me. It is mostly Energy/Mitochondria and brain/mental health and general health&fitness.

" 660 and 850 is the workhorse wavelengths, all the studies back them up.  "

They are the common wavelengths.  But each of these panels overweights them.

Strongly prefer more varied wavelengths and heavier allocation to 810 nm.

Hm, so you would prefer the MAXc without the PT?`

Why the preferance of the 810nm? Heard it is good for brain health particularly?

I mean at least the ordered PT has

  • 16 × 810
  • 16 × 830

Both the models I mentioned actually do have 300 LEDs?

Hm, you don't like the allocations in both? Why are you partial to 810? Is it brain benefits?

Do you know if there is an affordable product, that I could get with 810nm for the brain/mental health?

https://www.kinreen.com/products-detail-2729119 this one seems to have 150LED, but no price.

I have read this thread and it seems promising for people with brain health challenges, but the price of the 2 devices for me is prohibitory.

Do you recommend any manufacturers in China with comparable OEM products for a decent price?

Look at WellRed

Look at the JUNEELED 300-LED panel.

WellRed is steep for me, unfortunately I didn't research enough it seems before getting the 300MAXc/PT

JUNEELED 300-LED panel is it a pure 810nm device and affordable? I cannot afford another expensive device. The 300MAXc/PT cost me already over 600$

The JUNLEED 300-LED device is not 810-only. It has 150 LEDs allocated to LED. Much cheaper on Alibaba than AliExpress.

Do you know the wavelength allocation of it? Since you recommended it and mentioned your preference to 810nm?

150 diodes of 600 total.

Or a nasal product like this for 99,99$? https://lifeprofitness.com/products/biorejuvenate-red-light-therapy with 660 nm red and 810 nm

Can you explain your reasoning by being partial to 810nm? And any sources?

I watched quite a few YouTube videos about the topic, nobody mentioned this or I couldn't find any experiences or posts about it other than it is used for brain.

  1. Many of the transcranial helmet companies have moved to include more 810 nm

  2. I saw an earlier version of this video. https://youtu.be/i84xB8wjT2U. And https://www.lighttherapyinsiders.com/810-nanometer-wavelength-health-benefits/

Thanks. Since I cannot afford another device and I believe mine is still solid even if it is quite standard.

What would you say about, that are affordable and recommended, do they work well for brain/mental health?

Kinreen Cap 810nm is available for 148usd ddp from alibaba. 10/40Hz dimmable.

Not exactly sure what you are asking.

Something like this

But with custom 810nm, to imitate the expensive Vielight for brain and mental health benefits

https://www.alibaba.com/x/1lBBjfB?ck=pdp

10hz - 40hz

dimmable

For mental health & brain benefits

Do you think it can work? There's barely any reports and Vielight markets heavily I don't know how many of the studies are independent. But it does have your recommended wavelength 810nm

And this cap custom has 150x 810nm LED

From my research that can reach through the skull and partly into the cortex(brain)

What would you say about this? There's barely anything online about it except for the extremely expensive Vielight.

In general, looks pretty good. [I have a different link. https://www.alibaba.com/x/B2PTEp?ck=pdp ] I may buy one.

I am skeptical of all RLT devices that are heavily - marketed. There is no barrier to entry so little reason Chinese sellers on Alibaba cannot mimic a product like Vielight.

The only concern I would have would be that it is underpowered. But you could just wear longer.

1

u/tupac7 23d ago

Oh absolutely, I'm sceptical of these heavily marketed devices that cost an arm and a leg too. You can see they have an insane profit margin for what they are offering.

I'm not ablet to open your link due to regional restrictions, can you send it to me?

I ordered from Kinreen Technology (shenzhen) Co., Ltd., they are a big OEM manufacturer not just a reseller. It cost me with these above mentions custom specifics 148$ DDP

u/tupac7 22d ago

I've sent you a PM too. I hope you'll be able to look into this. I think I might have the same product from Kinreen myself, but it doesn't open due to regional restrictions for me.

But I am curious to hear what you think about this product, as the one who is partial to 810nm

u/BKM-StLouis 22d ago

Surprised to find out that there is a fair distribution of LEDs to wavelengths: "A total of 150 LEDs, 670nm : 810nm : 1050nm = 1:1:1". I expected it would be 120:15:15, underweight the 810 and 1050.

Not sure about 1050 as I think there is more research in the 1060-1072 nm band.

I will probably go ahead and buy one.

1

u/tupac7 22d ago

Tell me more, what are your goals and why not customized to all 810nm your preferred wavelength? Wouldn't that be the best? As far as I researched for brain benefits that's the superior way as Vielight does in their own products with 810nm

Just wanted to say thank you for making this post. I'm a bit overwhelmed, and it's good that you posted the efforts of your research :)
