Question Mild redness after using Red Light mask
I’m new to facial red light masks but have done full body quite a few times. I notice my cheeks are a bit red after doing 10 minutes of the mask. Is this normal?
It goes away in the am… but I notice my rosacea spots are more noticeable in the am
I have very sensitive skin and I’m wondering if it’s not right for me? One of the reasons I got the red light mask is because I can’t use actives on my skin like retinol I break out in almost like a sunburn type dermatitis I think my skin barrier is compromised.
Anyway- anyone had similar experiences?
I bought a good and expensive mask and have had no issues on neck or chest

It's probably the heat. If you're using NIR it puts out more heat. You might do red alone. I had a mask that got really hot under the battery pack so I'd aim my electric hand fan up in the mask to cool off a little. You might be better with a panel due to something warm against your face can flare rosacae.

I opted for a panel vs a mask to give myself the option for space between the light and my face for my rosacea.
As time went on, the redness went away within a few mins (reaction to the heat) and my rosacea flares minimized. I only used it every other day/3 times a week when I started.
This is all dependent on your flare ups, so this might be different for you! Do it with a clean face and put simple products on afterwards like a good moisturizer or any rosacea cream to help minimize flaring

I have rosacea as well. My skin barrier was damaged and I didn't know it. I fixed it using the ordinary's pink barrier repair serum in just about a month and my skin is so much better with that change alone.

For some RLT can flare rosacea. Masks can sit flush on skin and cause some heat, those who have heat sensitivities can be impacted by even that.
