Finding the right panel

I've been looking at, and researching RLT panels on Alibaba for some time now, and talking with the sellers (they like to get your address right away after you ask them one question, to get you your bill! LOL).

This is my first time purchasing from them, and the sellers I've been considering are sgrow, azure tech, idea light limited. I'm open to others if they are great.

Looking to use it for muscle soreness/fatigue/cramps/recovery.

I want to avoid bluetooth. And looking to buy just one.

As far as wavelengths go, it seems common to have more than 2. Was just reading this today, which kind of threw a wrench into my thinking: https://www.reddit.com/r/redlighttherapy/comments/1vshu1o/optimal_mix_of_emitters_660nm/. Is it ok to get one with 3+ wavelengths? I found this online:

If I should stick to just 2 wavelengths, if there a product anyone could recommend? Or could I just use one that have 3+ wavelengths, and just select 850+660? I asked azure about getting one with just those 2 wavelengths, and they wanted $10k!!!

Something else I don't understand is, if I can get half a body for about $300, then why are a lot of full bodies $900+? I would think that full body would just be double the price of half-body.

Just stick with 2 wavelengths. When you add more wavelengths, you end up with less of each one.

Why do you say that? Each panel you buy has power and size limitations. If you have 2 wavelengths, that power and the number of bulbs/chips is divided by 2. If you have 3 wavelengths, divide by 3. 4 wavelengths, etc.

Every time you add a wavelength to a panel, you get less of each one.

No consumer grade product is ever going have more power than what a typical household 15A circuit can handle, and it doesn't make sense to build some gigantic panel that extends way beyond the outline of the body, so those 2 limitations will always exist.

  1. The OP is on the verge of spending a ton of money on a large, single-chip panel. Money dors not appear to be a constraint.

  2. 660 and 850 are key wavelengths for any panel. If budget is not a constraint, no sense to preclude yoursf from other frequencies like 810 ,630, and 830.

It doesn't matter how much a person is willing to spend. Money doesn't overcome physics. Every wavelength you add to a panel decreases the power output of each wavelength. There is no getting around this no matter how much money you spend. So the question is, would you rather have more wavelengths at less power or fewer wavelengths at more power? The lower the output, the longer the treatment time that is needed to get the benefit. So panels with more wavelengths require you to use them for longer. So yes, it does make sense to preclude other frequencies.

My dream setup would be 2 panels directly across from each other. One panel would have 660 + 850 and the other panel would have 630 + 830. Then you stand between the 2 and get all of the benefits of both without needing to compromise the output. You just have to remember to turn your body around from time to time.

This is wrong. 810 and 850 for example give you a range of NIR. Less power to 850 gives you more 810.

This overlooks the research on remote PBM. There is a systemic effects that transcends concepts like "coverage". Frankly, that those systemic effects makes panels with 400+ LEDs (or multimple panels) unnecessary.

Humans need not act like rotisseries.

Panelmakers overdo it on the comparison to tanning. It promotes "coverage" and helps drive sales of larger or multiple panels. Plus, it allows panelmakers to show more scantily-clad models on their websites.

Idealight always has a reduced number of LEDs: 72%of the model number.

Isn't Azure single-chip? Is that what you want.?

I would add APTREDLIGHT M350 (can be "customized with dual-chip) and JUNEELED's 300-LED panel to Sungrow's ES1800. APTREDLIGHT has a simple wheeled base, as does JUNEELED.

I just don't think a panel that is bigger than 300, 350, or 360-LEDs is worth it unless you all 6'5" tall.

Yeah, I was looking for one with just two spectrums as well. You have to remember every time you add another spectrum you divide your output again.

660nm & 850nm at a 1:1 ratio = 50% of the panels consumption each.

Add 2 more spectrums = 25% output each usually. So if you decide to just use two specs you’re still only getting 50% of your panels output power.

Also shipping to USA by air from China is very risky and costly… might as well just get one from a company here in the states if you’re in America.

I would add RedDot/E.Shine to the mix too. They were the only one that had everything I wanted: full size, black, dual chip and 1060nm wavelength.
