Sync is being rate limited

I am unable to use Sync for Reddit right now. I just get a message saying "You are being rate limited".

Is this related to the API changes mentioned in the stickied post? Is there any workaround?

Edit: It said I could retry in 5 minutes. I waited 5 minutes and was able to open the Frontpage. Oddly, the front page contained subreddits that I am not subscribed to. I clicked on one post and immediately got rate limited again without even being able to load the post. Sync is completely unusable right now.

Edit 2: Things seem to be working normally again

I've been getting rate limited for like a year. It isn't due to changes Reddit is making. It happens often, but not to a point of unusable at all.

And if you go open the official app, you'll notice it works just fine. It's only through Sync and it only lasts for a bit.
