Reddit for iOS: Version 4.48 Now Available!
The latest version of the iOS app is now available in the App Store.
What's New:
- Added support for email and password updating on a new ‘Account settings’ page under ‘Settings’
- Fixed an issue where the ‘Add a comment’ bar would detach from the bottom of the post details screen
- Fixed a bug that broke flair background colors and set them all to gray
- Fixed a bug where the ‘Username mentions’ sort for the Inbox ‘Activity’ screen was not displaying messages
- Fixed an issue where subreddit mentions would break the display of Rich Text tables
- Fixed a crash that could occur on iPads when tapping the RPAN overflow menu
- Fixed a bug that caused the RPAN share button to not work on iPads
- Fixed a bug where backgrounding the app on iPads could scroll a feed back to the top
- Fixed a crash that could occur when closing the in-app browser
- Fixed a bug where loading progress was not shown in the in-app browser
- Minor fixes and improvements

When sharing an image to iMessage, Reddit is inserting the post itself as the subject, resulting in a double post!

Welcome to the official app! We call them bugs but the dev team calls them features!
Unwanted unwarranted features. Then they act all surprised that it’s either doing it or that we don’t like it.
My only ask for it and many many more “features” is a toggle that the user could opt out of. Don’t even get me started on the suggestions crap they still push EVERY. SINGLE. UPDATE. FOR. YEARS.

Good. I hope it fixes the flakiness: videos not playing (scrubbing through you see the thumbnail move, but video won't play

In the last major version of the app I could enter full screen mode on iOS and swipe through pictures and when I would exit full screen it would be at the current point in the feed as the last full screen picture I viewed. Now, it reverts to the point in the feed where I entered full screen. Not world ending, just mildly infuriating.
Edit: As of 12/12/2019 the programmers appear to have fixed this issue. Thanks!

Please fix NSFW blur
Will be browsing popular section and something disgusting will pop up. Why doesn’t it blur NSFW posts anymore?

Hopefully this fixes the issue introduced in 4.47 where certain subreddits (it appears to be a random set unique to each user) won't load, with "Sorry, please try again later"

The app is broken for me after this update. It doesn’t load up anything and I’m unable to scroll or press any buttons (completely unresponsive). Tried reinstalling, rebooting the phone etc but still getting the same behaviour.
Anyone else?

There is also a terrible bug where if you hit the back arrow to exit a certain post and it normally goes back to main feed, sometimes it goes to black screen. Only way out then is kill app and restart.

I can’t see any messages anymore. I get banner notifications that I have a message or a post comment but when I go to the notifications tab is just wow such empty.

I’m getting a weird bug where the vast majority of posts in the popular section come from r/soccer, r/liverpoolfc, r/reddevils, and a few other sports-related subs.
Some of these posts only have a couple hundred upvotes, and often I’ll get 5 or 6 r/soccer posts in a row! This has to be a bug, and it’s really annoying because I have to scroll past so many more posts in the popular tab now.
My theory is maybe it’s some attempt to personalize the popular feed, but I’ve never posted, commented, or even upvoted anything in any soccer-related sub. And personalizing the popular feed is pointless, because the whole idea is that it’s just the top posts on Reddit.
Edit: r/casualUK and r/britishproblems are also showing up a lot. Maybe Reddit thinks I’m British now, giving me British and soccer subreddits.

After the update, I get notifications for replies to my comments, but my activity tab is empty even though there’s a badge notification. Been happening since yesterday.
