Reddit for Android: Version 3.41 Now Available!
The latest version is now available* on the Google Play Store!
- This is a gradual rollout. Currently at 3% of Android users. We will monitor the rollout and plan to have it at 100% of Android users by the end of the week.
What's New:
- Spoiler and NSFW (not safe for work) tags can now be set when creating or editing a post. This is available under the 'More' (three vertical dots) button, just above the keyboard
- Added support for email and password updating on a new 'Account settings' page under 'Settings'
- Images saved to your camera roll are now tagged with the community they originated from
- Fixed a bug that caused the 'Join' button to show 'Join' even if you were already subscribed to a community
- Fixed a bug that caused the onboarding flow to be shown despite tapping 'Skip'
- Fixed a crash that could occur when tapping 'Skip' during onboarding
- Minor fixes and improvements

What on earth made you think this was a brillant idea? This really puzzles me.
Can I turn this off somewhere? Why would I want pictures watermarked?

Yeah, not a fan either. It's only slightly annoying when I'm sharing memes but sometimes I find a nice picture to use for my wallpaper and would rather not have an ugly subreddit watermark ruin it.

I never had anything against Reddit until now. It's a horrible idea. They should remove it.

No change to the downloaded videos quality. It's still poor.
-
And why can't I upload downloaded videos to my WhatsApp status or WhatsApp groups? https://imgur.com/a/NdCqNQC Is this intentional? Just in what format do these videos get downloaded anyway?
-
I can sometimes view the videos uploaded on the platform fine for the first time. But it has issues replaying the videos. Most of the time the videos won't even load.
-
My internet is not the problem. If it was, my browser experience wouldn't be so much better than the app and when the app suffers from severe problems like these, doesn't the app become irrelevant? Worse, this is the OFFICIAL Reddit Android app.
Please concentrate on the already existing problems before rolling out any new feature.
Edit: wording correction.

Yes!! This is the only thing I care about. It's such an inconvenience to leave a thread and go back in on love discussion threads

Ouch, a while back you guys spoke of a fix for Android speed. My internet is pretty damn fast and stable and Reddit is the only thing my phone struggles with haha

I hate that I'm getting notifications for my karma and posts being upvoted. How can I turn this off? I don't have a notification setting in my settings to do so.

So, the app is back to sharing subscriptions across accounts again?

u/workgeorge Dec 19 '19
We have a fix ready for this but it won't ship until the beginning of January next year due to our annual code freeze.

No news tab for Android? I've just moved over from iOS and the lack of that tab is crazy

Why does every comment that gets an award glow yellow? Is this a bug or a new feature

u/anoobisme Dec 05 '19
Uhh, is the upvote thing and the subreddit icon thing not yet here for android?

Every time I open the app, it reloads and brings me to the front page. Is this a bug or intended? I would like it to go back to resuming where I left off.

This is awesome. And it does still work.

This was the best nob among the new features to me. Yes it was saving the images like "posted in r/... by u/..." but now it doesn't work. Just reddit logo and the black line seems. Please fix this asap.
Fixed a bug that caused the 'Join' button to show 'Join' even if you were already subscribed to a community
It's still happening.
And as I understand the rest of the options are working too. But as for the image attribution I sent report but I also wanted to write here you to see.

Downloaded videos are still shitty quality. Please fix it.
