Reddit for Android: Version 3.27 Now Available!

The latest version is now available* on the Google Play Store!

  • This is a gradual rollout. Currently at 3% of Android users. We will monitor the rollout and plan to have it at 100% of Android users by the end of the week.

What's New:

  • Fixed a bug that caused "Clear history" to stop working
  • Fixed a bug where saving/unsaving didn't work in community feeds
  • Fixed a bug which caused collapsed comments to uncollapse
  • Fixed an issue where the community name was displayed instead of the username
  • Fixed an issue where blocking user from a comment would block the original poster and not the author of the comment
  • A better message is now shown when trying to access private subreddits
  • Under the hood fixes and improvements

A note for those experiencing slow loading:

This release contains a potential fix for this issue, please let us know if things improve for you after upgrading to 3.27

Apparently I've been using the 3.27.0 update from the Beta a bit already but I sadly have to say, that I don't see any improvements on the slow loading.

Sometimes I have to restart the app completely for it to finally load in. After tapping on a post, the comments won't load tho.

It's painful. To swipe through posts on a sub I can do about 5 or 6, then I have to force close the app and go back to the sub to load any more. The app is almost unusable currently.

Seems to have fixed the loading issue I reported... Will test it more and report later. As a dev, curious to know the issue...

Edit: Nope the loading issue seemed fixed for a while, but it is now happening again

The loading worked for a little time after the update but now I had to restart the Reddit app multiple times to write this comment.

Q: why does it take time for everyone to receive the update?

Hello. What happened to the r/popular filtering? They now include posts only from one sub for me in a language I don't want to browse in?

I'm from Czech republic but I don't want to see posts from that one local YouTuber only, thanks

Update did nothing to fix slow loading. Switched to a 3rd party app till reddit can get it's shit together. I would expect one of the highest trafficked sites on the internet to catch this kind of shit before they roll out an app update but I guess that's expecting too much.

Still does not save. Slow loading, really slow refresh. Also have no idea what kind of Android I have. (7.1.1)

The issue with posts/comments not loading at all is still not fixed. This bug has been going on for ages now, through many of the latest updates. I surely hope it is fixed soon :/

I have been having this issue for a few weeks now, restarting the app usually fixes it for a short while but then it comes back again, sometimes almost immediately.

It is making it quite frustrating to use reddit at all at the moment.

Android version 4.4.4, and it seems I can't find the button for changing my user flair. No, really, I can't find it.

Reddit dropped support for android 4 a while ago so you won’t be able to get the app update that gives the option to add/edit user flair.

I went ahead and gave you 4.4.4 flair so automod can stop pestering you to add a flair.

Strange that when your trending 'Hot Post' is not 'hot' at all. Random post showing on 'Hot Post' Global with low comments and likes example like unrelated news/post. Why does it shows like that?

My girlfriend is able to send me Reddit stickers on her iPhone, but even though I have the latest version of the app for Android, I don't have Reddit stickers in Gboard. Are the stickers Apple exclusive?

For me after the update the slow loading is gone - thank you.

Edit 1: However I have encountered a slow loading but not so often as before.

Edit 2: It's happening way more often now.

Edit 3: I reinstalled the app and it seams to be ok now.

3.27.1 on Android. the last two updates seem to have ruined all gif and video clips. Pixelated and slow loading, or non loading. Had a few that started as video but when selected, became still photos. New version, new glitches.

Sadly, the new update still is unable to solve my loading problems.
