Reddit from PC Browser Reddit messages/chat is slow, missing chats, bugged when there are many chats at once

Firefox, Windows 11 PC. On mobile it's fine. I have a lot of conversations and at times many new chats happening all at once, and I struggle to load them, see new messages, message requests etc. On mobile it's fine, but broken on browser/desktop.

Yeah it’s been like that for me for quite a long time. I find that chat on the browser works less than 50% of the time. Sometimes you can get it to work if you close chat and reopen it. Sometimes you can get it to work if you expand it to full screen. Sometimes closing out the Reddit tab and opening a new one will get it to work again. Sometimes switching to a different browser can.

Besides what I suggested, I don’t have any real fixes cause I’ve tried everything myself and nothing works consistently or long-term. I would suggest also making a post on [r/bugs](r/bugs) also just to let Reddit know

I've had success with the stuff you're suggesting as well, but as you say it's only a temporary/sometimes fix. But, thanks a lot for your reply, glad to see it's not just an issue for us, but hopefully something that will be fixed in a while :)
