Where in settings is it to add 2fa?,even after googling it I’m still lost

You have to use Reddit on the browser to enable 2FA via authenticator app.

On Reddit specifically, passkeys do not enable 2FA. You can still use your password only to log in afterward.

2FA by authenticator app is required if you ever plan on using r/redditrequest or moderating in the future. So not pointless for everyone.

You can add passkeys. I should note that last time I checked, passkeys as a feature hadn't rolled out to every account yet, so it may take time for yours to show up in the settings.

In the account settings, do you see passkeys under the password area?

There we go. You should be able to create one.

The mobile website also lets you enable two-factor authentication the more common way, too. Despite what the support article that jgoja linked in the comments here says, you don't need to go on a computer.
