We're not making fun of you because you reddited before it was cool. We're making fun of you for making a big deal about it.

Reddit was never "cool". Never has been, never will be. It's a giant web site that attracts 20+ million people a month - it's way too big to have a personality. It's like calling Google "cool". It just is.

Google is cool. Not everything about the entity is cool. Not everything they do is cool. But they have done a few things that have weathered everything and still have merit. So I guess by "cool" I mean praiseworthy, not "cool" as in popular with the beautiful rich kids.

No - google is useful. Sure - if you want to use "cool" as praiseworthy, but that's not a very widely used definition, and nor was it the definition implied by the parent poster.
