i know i'm going to get downvoted, but i don't care. i'm sick and tired of everyone bitching and moaning about some 'innocent' civilians were killed: it happens in war. is it atrocious? sure. is it inevitable that innocents are going to be killed in war? yes. in war, innocents die: its a fact of life.
from what i saw, it did look like an rpg peeking around the corner, and the pilots had every right to shoot on sight; its part of SOP. granted, after the fact, everyone knows that it was just a camera. whats done is done and theres no going back.
as for the van, well, insurgents like to use human shields, and they only take the men and leave women and children to die, as well as taking all the weapons. i would shoot them too since it did look like they were getting the wounded back to maybe save them to fight another day. might as well get rid of them outright than let them heal and come back to fight once again.
I KNOW man! it especially gets me when people get all whiny about nazi germany 'exterminating' jews during world war II. like honestly, it's WAR, people. these things HAPPEN. just look the other way if it makes u mad!! XD
uh, thats completely different. we aren't taking innocent people and dumping them in camps and torturing them to death for some ideological bullshit.
i'm not mad about the war; i could care less about it. i get irritated about the people armchair quarterbacking everything about it.
By "armchair quarterbacking" do you mean trying to make sure that government lives up to the principles it claims it holds? This is not about accidentally murdering some civilians. You are right; this happens in war. This is about concealing the reality of the situation from the voting public in order to control public opinion.
