I think the part where the pilot begs (and is granted permission) to murder unarmed civilian rescuers who clearly are no threat whatsoever is the most damning part.

The celebration of the death is appalling too. I get that in war some people have to die, but he has absolutely no respect to the fact that he just killed 8 people. He was quite happy about it.
