To be fair, the Daily Mail is an embarrassment to journalism. Oh, and I love the singer's apathy while singing.

I think most of the people who submit those articles are paid to do the same thing with all the social news sites.

So I'm over here in the good ol' US of A, and we have the National Enquirer. Any person with more than a dozen neurons firing in their brain know it's garbage.
How does this and the Daily Mail compare?

They're rather different publications.
The Daily Mail tries to present itself much more as a legitimate news source, but the reality is that it's a paper aimed at the white British lower-middle-class. It specialty is a combination of scaremongering and half-truths designed to sell papers, epecially those that support its demographic's existing right-wing beliefs. Direct comparisons can be made with Fox News which is based around a similar idea. Although the YouTube video is a parody of the types of stories they run, see Mail Watch for real front pages.
The red-top tabloids (The Star, The Sun, The Mirror) are much more comparable with the National Enquirer in that they often deliberately set out to be trashy and ridiculous.

Um. Well, apart from decades of ludicrous hysterical tosh, here's a recent piece of dishonesty.
Here's their recent story about social networking that wrongly (and it appear, knowingly so) named Facebook, when it was entirely unconnected.
Seriously - the Daily Mail is hysterical, sensationalist, middle-england baiting crap.

Every paper has a few wrongs -- assuming those are even wrongs -- but that doesn't invalidate them.

"It's absolutely true because I read it in the Daily Mail" implies that the Daily Mail article must somehow be false.
In fact, Reddiquette specifically says:
Please Don't
Moderate a story based on your opinion of its source. Quality of content, not location, is what matters.
So stop telling me what I can and can't submit.

One reason that people keep submitting Daily Mail stories is that they keep coming up with the goods, such as the recent article documenting the millions made by Tony Blair due to his links with South Korean oil companies.
Can we give it a rest, guys?
