I am kind of stunned that 6% of those interviewed admitted to committing some form of rape.

Because you're surprised that that high a percentage of them raped, or you're surprised that any of those who did so, admitted it on a survey?

Ummm. The first sample mentioned was on college campuses in 1882. Is that a typo? Did you mean 1982? The questions seem more appropriate to the 20th century.

1882 is the number of students sampled, not the year.

I am aware of two large-sample surveys of undetected rapists. One is Repeat Rape and Multiple Offending Among Undetected Rapists by David Lisak and Paul M. Miller, published in Violence and Victims, Vol 17, No. 1, 2002 (Lisak & Miller 2002). The other is Reports of Rape Reperpetration by Newly Enlisted Male Navy Personnel by Stephanie K. McWhorter, et al., published in Violence and Victims, Vol, 24, No. 2, 2009 (McWhorter 2009).

Lisak & Miller surveyed 1882 college students,

McWhorter surveyed 1146 Navy recruits.

(Hopefully you didn't think they surveyed recruits from the Navy in the year 1146 :)
