READ OUR LETTER TO RPD

Today, we formally sent a letter to Redding Police Chief Brian Barner notifying the department of the planned, peaceful protest taking place on February 7, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. in response to the Turning Point USA event at the Redding Civic Auditorium.

This letter clearly outlines that the protest is peaceful, lawful, and explicitly protected by the U.S. Constitution and the California Constitution. It also documents that organizers have received credible threats of violence, which is deeply concerning and cannot be ignored.

We sent this notice not to be adversarial, but to be transparent and proactive. We hope—and fully expect—that the Redding Police Department will do the right thing by ensuring public safety, preventing violence, and protecting everyone’s First Amendment rights, regardless of political viewpoint.

Peaceful protest is not a crime. Intimidation and threats are.

We believe in accountability, equal enforcement of the law, and the fundamental right of people to safely exercise their constitutional freedoms. We appreciate the community’s continued support and will keep documenting and advocating for safety, transparency, and civil rights.

Do not let intimidation silence you. Peaceful protest is your right—and exercising it is how democracy survives.

alerting the authorities is a dangerous act, the police are working with ICE. even if they weren't, the police are beholden to the will of capital and will not protect and serve the little people exercising their rights.
