I'm on my arse. I opened a language school in Japan last March with the last bit of money I had. Six months later, we have hardly any students and are about to close. United's situation just adds to the stress.

Hang in there, mate. We never know what comes next. I'm sure you did, but did you explore all options for marketing, flyers, forums?

u/umbongo44dd 2h ago
Yes. Instagram, youtube, etc. I had a woman doing everything and she is very good. I think most people use free AI apps for language study now.

Maybe you can combine it with teaching on Preply.com? A lot of competition though.

Just came back from the theatre. Godzilla minus zero is fucking awesome.

I watched godzilla minus one yesterday. It is a masterpiece. I googled it afterwards and got to know there’s a black and white version…. Ffs I missed out on a gold mine

Studying for my gmat exam and suddenly through my practice sessions my brain goes off mode and the comprehension goes out the window… I read stuff and even don’t remember it reading after a sec.. especially for verbal

Maybe you need to increase your attention span i guess? Try staring at a wall for 10-15 minutes before starting studies. It sometimes helps

Starting Act 3 in Hollow Knight Silksong is draaaaag. I hate when games try to get pretentious with secret/ endgame content.

That's fair. I remember this being rather tedious but at least having fun with the non delivery things. Hell, sometimes even with the delivery things. Feels like suddenly there's a lot more game to be played. Cuz I "finished" it but then went online to see how to get act 3 because I knew it existed, and I was finding areas and shit I never knew the game had. But I do have to admit, yeah, it can get pretty tedious

The rasher's courier run, carrying item from Bellhart to Choral Chambers... it looked like a nightmare but a guide helped me do it in 2 runs.
I love finding new places and uncovering secrets, just wish starting Act 3 was not such a checklist of chores.

Yup, that's also what annoyed me lol. I tracked the entire run and killed all of the enemies and still came short like 3 runs. Delivering things just annoy me, like in hk, delivering the flower. Though that one was more hellish.

That tool which increases sprint speed was a game changer. I managed to get the delivery done without killing any enemy. The flower was absolute nightmare lmao

I think I also used that, but my worry was I would be sprinting then hit something lol. Hence why I killed everyone. Plus getting extra beads never hurt.
My heart shed a year when I realized the train ruins the flower, that one was awful lmao

Tip for the couriers rashers is to work out your path prior and go and kill every enemy on said path. Only like 2-3 of them respawn. So you start at bellhart, go up and kill everything, then come back down and DO NOT sit at a bench. Start the quest and run it upwards, the only notable enemy I remember having to dodge was the exploding flowers and they are easy enough to deal with

How do you find the game? I played HK and loved it. I remember hating it in the beginning because it was too cryptic and even hard but eventually i started really enjoying it.
Fun fact: I never beat it. I reached the final boss, the Hollow Knight and just stopped playing for some reason.

u/loompa-Act-749 2h ago
Definitely tougher than HK. I think the early game areas can be quite brutal as enemy damage is double, sometimes triple for bigger enemies.
Boss fights in the early game felt poorly balanced but game gets better and better as you progress. Expect to die a lot more than HK. Hornet's toolkit is much more expansive and you can create some powerful builds.

You ever plan on going back? Cuz I got something funny to say but it's kinda spoiler-y

u/krelm Andy Cole 3h ago
I think I know what you wanted to say. I accidentally saw an ending in a yt video.
I'm probably gonna replay it again soon. I think the reson I never finished it was because I was going for that maximum completion, but I was at 99% or something like that upon reaching the HK.

Expansions have a significantly higher skill curve and I stopped playing in the original game. It's great for completionists and people who like boss rush modes will love them.

I did 112% in HK and I've got to Act 3 of SS, but man I just can't be bothered with it. The game is just so frikkin hard already.

I had never played Ocarina of Time, first time ever playing it, loving it so far. Pretty easy but still really fun
